What You'll Do

As a Staff Attorney at The Fedcap Group-a $400 million global nonprofit organization-you will provide essential legal and compliance support to a rapidly growing workforce development, human services, and economic development enterprise. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel and collaborating closely with the Compliance Officer and executive leadership, you will deliver strategic legal guidance on government and general contracting, regulatory compliance, and other legal matters. You will also play a key role in fostering a workplace culture grounded in excellence, respect, open communication, collaboration, and teamwork.

Your responsibilities will include:

Contracts & Agreements
  • Assist with revenue and vendor contracting process, establishing procedures for the review, negotiation and execution of agreements.
  • Implement new contracts, ensuring key stakeholders have a substantive understanding of key terms and conditions.
  • Assist the Associate General Counsel with management of the consultant contracting process, tracking agreements, and ensuring linkages are established with other key areas.
  • Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for contracting as well as the compliance program and its related activities.

Vendor & Funder Management
  • Draft and review amendments and manage conflict resolution with vendors and funders.

Compliance & Audit
  • Administer, in coordination with Associate General Counsel and Compliance Officer, the reporting process and oversight of program audit activities.
  • Assist with internal audits and reviews, developing and implementing continuing improvement plans.
  • Advise Associate General Counsel and General Counsel on legal aspects of the organization's activities, particularly related to contracting and compliance matters.
  • Assist Compliance Officer in revising and updating the compliance program as needed.

Support
  • Supporting board management across the Fedcap footprint.
  • Provide support to ensure a practical global ethics and compliance program.
  • Contributing to the organization's overall success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team results.
  • Proactively address a rapidly evolving regulatory and governance compliance environment, including changes in laws and regulations, regulatory focus areas, and industry best practices.


You're a great fit for this role if you have:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law.
  • 2-10 years of legal experience, preferably including one or more of the following areas: non-profit, contracts, compliance, regulatory practice and corporate business experience. International experience - Canada, Australia EU, and UK a plus.
  • Ability to build and manage strong interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders, anticipating and responding to requests on a timely basis.
  • Experience working with external auditors, creating and revising internal controls, and addressing compliance-related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other finance/fundraising tracking software.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, provide guidance, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Patience and sensitivity to people with disabilities.
  • A sense of humor.


Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $105,000-$135,000
