Position Description: SSIS / SQL Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled SSIS / SQL Developer with strong backend development experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration and database solutions. This role will focus on building robust ETL pipelines, optimizing database performance, and supporting backend application development to enable data-driven decision-making.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading
. Write, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
. Develop and support data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing
. Collaborate with backend developers to integrate database solutions into applications
. Analyze and improve database performance, indexing strategies, and query execution plans
. Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ETL failures, and performance bottlenecks
. Support data migration, data warehousing, and reporting initiatives
. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security best practices are followed
. Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for data solutions
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
. 3-7+ years of experience working with: Microsoft SQL Server SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
. Strong expertise in: T-SQL development (stored procedures, indexing, query tuning) Data modeling and database design
. Experience with backend development (e.g., C#, .NET, Java, or similar)
. Familiarity with API integration and backend architecture
. Experience working with version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or cloud data platforms
. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas)
. Familiarity with Power BI, SSRS, or other reporting tools
. Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database and ETL deployments
. Understanding of data governance and security practices
Technical Skills
. SQL Server (2016+ preferred)
. SSIS package development and deployment
. T-SQL performance tuning and optimization
. Backend programming (C#, .NET, or equivalent)
. REST APIs and service integration
. Data integration, transformation, and validation techniques
Soft Skills
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
. Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy
. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Other Information:
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $76,900.00 - $123,200.00.
