About the Role

Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle databases (9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c) across production and development environments
- Lead installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for standalone and clustered Oracle servers
- Design, implement, and validate disaster recovery (DR) processes, including backup and recovery with RMAN (CommVault/NetApps integration)
- Conduct database migrations and performance optimization initiatives
- Train and mentor junior DBAs in Oracle technologies, troubleshooting, and best practices
- Manage and report on DR, backup, and recovery strategies, ensuring mission-critical uptime
- Architect and maintain GoldenGate replication environments
- Write and automate DBA tasks using shell scripting; Perl experience is a plus
- Collaborate in incident response, postmortem analysis, and process improvement
- Recommend and implement database enhancements to boost performance and capacity
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- 4-7 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience: installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance tuning
- Proven expertise in RMAN backup/recovery, Data Guard, disaster recovery planning, and GoldenGate
- Experience with clustered and standalone Oracle environments
- Solid shell scripting skills for automation
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
- Track record of supporting mission-critical, high-availability environments
- Experience participating in or leading incident response and root cause analysis
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL administration
- Integration experience with hybrid on-premise and cloud environments
- Perl scripting proficiency
