Sr. Unified Comms Engineer - Federal Customer
(On-Site 5 Days per week, Chantilly, VA - TS/SCI Required)
The Unified Communications Engineer supports Dell Mission Operations by engineering, sustaining, and improving voice and collaboration capabilities used for day-to-day mission execution. This role is responsible for administration, troubleshooting, integration, and lifecycle support of communications platforms and endpoints in a secure environment. The ideal candidate brings strong UC fundamentals, customer-facing problem solving, and the ability to maintain dependable collaboration services under mission requirements.
Key responsibilities
• Administer and support voice, telephony, conferencing, or collaboration platforms
• Troubleshoot service issues involving call quality, endpoints, connectivity, or platform configuration
• Support implementation, upgrades, and integration of communications solutions
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, operating procedures, and support records
• Coordinate with network, systems, and field teams on platform dependencies and changes
• Support user issues, service requests, and operational continuity activities
• Contribute to testing, validation, and service improvement efforts
• Help ensure secure, stable, and supportable communications capabilities
• Provide reports to relevant stakeholders and participate in leadership level design and engineering decisions
Required qualifications
• Experience supporting unified communications, VoIP, telephony, or collaboration environments
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-support skills
• Familiarity with endpoint integration, platform administration, and service support processes
• Understanding of network and QoS concepts related to voice and collaboration services
• Ability to work onsite in a secure environment
• Experience with video, AV, conferencing, or call-management environments
• Familiarity with SIP, secure voice, or enterprise communications architectures
• 15+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree
• Active TS/SCI and ability to maintain access as required by the program

Preferred qualifications
• Experience with Cisco UC or similar platforms
• Experience in government or classified environments
• Lead experience guiding standards, design choices, or junior engineers
