Full Job Description
Role Summary

We are hiring a Sr. Technical Program Manager to own our Asia supplier relationships end-to-end. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role at the intersection of hardware development, supply chain, and NPI execution. You will be the primary interface between Range's engineering teams and our Asia-based suppliers - spanning high-voltage harnesses, battery systems, power electronics, and electromechanical assemblies.

Success requires deep hardware fluency, the ability to hold suppliers accountable to schedule and quality without sacrificing relationships, and the operational discipline to keep complex multi-tier programs on track. This is not a coordination-only role - you will be expected to understand the technical content, identify risk early, and drive resolution.

Responsibilities
• Own the supplier relationship and program execution for key Asia-based suppliers (e.g., High Voltage Distribution and Power Electronics).
• Drive on-time delivery of parts and assemblies aligned to NPI gates, build events, and validation milestones.
• Maintain program visibility: track open actions, risks, and deliverables across multiple suppliers in parallel.
• Lead structured weekly and milestone-based syncs with suppliers; generate clear, action-oriented meeting outputs.
• Coordinate engineering changes (ECOs/ECRs) through suppliers - manage communication, timing, and supply continuity impact.
• Engage deeply with supplier engineering teams on design requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Identify technical risks in supplier processes or designs early and drive structured resolution.
• Support DFM/DFA reviews and manufacturability feedback loops between suppliers and Range engineering.
• Drive supplier readiness for prototype, pilot, and production builds - from tooling through FAI through build support.
• Coordinate supplier audits, process reviews, and on-site visits as needed.
• Support incoming part quality issues: own containment, root cause, and corrective action with urgency.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Asia suppliers and Range's engineering, procurement, and operations teams.
• Proactively communicate status, risks, and program health to internal stakeholders - with appropriate detail and no surprises.
• Support sourcing decisions: RFQ coordination, quote analysis, supplier selection inputs, and make/buy trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Range's PLM and NPI teams to ensure part release, revision control, and change management are synchronized with supplier status.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of technical program or supplier management experience in a hardware-intensive industry (automotive, EV/HEV, aerospace, industrial electronics, or similar).
• Demonstrated track record managing Asia-based suppliers - particularly in China - through NPI and into production.
• Working knowledge of HV/EV powertrain systems, including HV batteries, power electronics, electrical distribution.
• Experience driving supplier accountability through milestone gates, corrective actions, and continuous improvement - not just relationship management.
• Comfortable traveling to supplier sites in Asia (estimated 20-30% travel, variable by program phase).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication - able to write clear, structured program updates and hold productive, efficient meetings.
• Proficient with PLM concepts (BOMs, ECO/ECR workflows, lifecycle states) and program management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Jira, MS Project, or equivalent).
• Language Requirement: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) is required for this position. This requirement exists because a substantial portion of this role involves direct communication with Mandarin-speaking customers/partners/stakeholders. Candidates must be able to conduct meetings, prepare written materials, and provide service in both languages.
• Experience with Class 8 truck/trailer systems, freight electrification, or heavy-duty vehicle programs.
• Background in power electronics, battery systems, or thermal management hardware.
• Experience using 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA, or similar PLM/CAD platforms for supplier coordination workflows.
• Prior work at a hardware startup or in a rapid-iteration NPI environment with limited process infrastructure.
• Knowledge of export control, customs, and cross-border logistics considerations for hardware supply chains.

Range Energy's compensation package includes a competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, and a generous benefits package. The salary range for Mountain View, CA based applicants is between $175,000 - $245,000 annually. The total compensation will be determined based on multiple factors including domain knowledge, experience and location.
