Title:Sr. Technical Professional - Structural
Sr. Technical Professional - Structural, KBR Technical Services, Inc., Houston, TX: Create designs, specifications and services related to structures and foundations made of concrete, steel, or engineered products. Perform all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devise new approaches to problems encountered. Plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. May lead a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project. Contribute to employee performance appraisals and coach lower-level professionals. Prepare and review calculations and drawings to meet the project requirements and design codes utilizing STAAD and MAT 3D. Assign work to draftsmen.
Telecommuting permitted up to 20% of the time.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in downstream plant engineering and design.
Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:
- Creating structure analysis models;
- Organizing and coordinating with other disciplines and team members in order to complete designs;
- Designing steel and concrete structures and preparing calculations to meet project requirements; and
- Designing codes utilizing STAAD and MAT 3D.
Domestic and international travel required up to 10%.
