Position Title: Sr. Tax Analyst, Canadian Tax (18 month contract)

Position Type: Temporary - Full-Time

The Senior Tax Analyst (18 month contract) is a corporate tax role reporting to the Sr. Director, Tax Compliance and Reporting. This role will be involved in assisting and supporting tax planning, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing and tax audits, with emphasis on Canadian tax compliance, accounting and financial statement reporting and other general corporate tax work or projects as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end Canadian income tax provisions and book-to-return true-ups
  • Prepare and file Canadian corporate income tax returns and T106
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance, non-resident tax compliance, withholding taxes obligations and other tax filings where applicable
  • Review and respond to incoming tax assessments and notices including preparing and filing of notice of objections where applicable
  • Prepare working papers to support quarterly and annual tax forecasts for the Canadian entities
  • Assist external consultant with R&D claims and income tax credits applications
  • Review tax continuity schedules and reconcile to CRA balances and investigate and resolve variances
  • Liaise with tax authorities and manage responses to audit queries
  • Manage federal and provincial installments to optimize cash savings
  • Stay current with Canadian tax legislation development and assess potential impacts to the business
  • Take the lead in process improvements by building efficiencies through automation or streamlining


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting designation is required (or working towards designation)
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years tax and audit experience
  • Must have related experience in preparation of corporate tax returns, income tax provision and government audits
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong organization skills and ability to adapt quickly to change
  • A team player who gets results by collaboratively working with people as a problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of current legislation and policies
  • Strong knowledge of common computer applications and accounting and tax related programs


Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . CAD annual base salary equivalency, paid in alignment to contract term
