Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking a Sr Talent Acquisition Advisor that is responsible for developing and executing recruiting strategies to attract, engage, and hire top talent across the commercial and DOE nuclear industries. This role partners closely with hiring managers, business leaders, and HR teams to identify and secure highly qualified engineering, construction, project management, operations, and technical professionals supporting commercial nuclear, DOE, advanced reactor, fuel cycle, and nuclear infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of both commercial and DOE nuclear industries, demonstrates exceptional sourcing capabilities, and excels at building relationships with passive candidates, industry organizations, and key stakeholders.

Location

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS, may be performed in Houston, TX, Charlotte, NC, Idaho Falls, ID, Knoxville, TN, or Lenexa, KS. Other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts from workforce planning and sourcing through offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies to support critical hiring initiatives and project staffing demands.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, technical requirements, and long-term talent objectives.
  • Provide market intelligence, talent mapping, and competitive hiring insights to business leaders.
  • Candidate Sourcing & Engagement
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines across the nuclear industry, including DOE, commercial nuclear, advanced reactors, EPC, engineering consulting, manufacturing, and government contractor organizations.
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, professional associations, employee referrals, networking events, industry conferences, and direct outreach.
  • Identify and engage passive candidates for highly specialized and difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Develop relationships with universities, trade organizations, military transition programs, and industry partners.
  • Recruitment Process Management
  • Conduct candidate screenings, interviews, and qualification assessments.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and facilitate communication between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Manage applicant tracking systems and ensure recruiting activities are documented accurately.
  • Guide candidates through the hiring process while delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Support offer development, compensation discussions, and negotiations.
  • Build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, hiring managers, project leadership, HR Business Partners, and executives.
  • Advise leaders on recruiting strategies, talent availability, compensation trends, and hiring challenges.
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions for current and future project staffing needs.
  • Support diversity recruitment initiatives and strategic workforce development efforts.
  • Advocate employer Branding & Market Presence
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, career fairs, networking events, and professional association meetings, as needed.
  • Promote the organization's culture, values, projects, and career opportunities throughout the nuclear market.
  • Develop recruiting marketing campaigns and employer branding initiatives.
  • Leverage social media and digital recruiting platforms to increase talent engagement.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting within commercial and DOE nuclear, engineering, construction, energy, industrial, manufacturing, and/or DOE environments.
  • Strong sourcing experience utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter and other advanced recruiting tools.
  • Experience recruiting technical professionals, including engineers, project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, operations personnel, and executives.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
  • Knowledge of nuclear engineering disciplines, project services, construction management, and operations functions.
  • Experience supporting major EPC, M&O, government contracting, or utility organizations.
  • Familiarity with security clearance recruiting, including DOE Q and L clearances.
  • Experience supporting advanced reactor, SMR, fusion, fuel cycle, or nuclear research organizations.
