Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior Systems Architect to lead enterprise technical architecture supporting modernization and sustainment of Congress.gov. The Architect will design secure, scalable, highly available systems aligned to federal security frameworks and Library of Congress (LOC) enterprise standards. The role partners closely with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure architecture aligns with mission objectives, modernization priorities, and LOC's technical environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Lead architecture design for complex, public-facing, mission-critical systems.
• Develop technical standards, patterns, integration approaches, and modernization roadmaps.
• Ensure all system designs align with federal security frameworks and LOC compliance requirements.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, performance tuning, and technical oversight.
• Support production operations through troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system optimization.
• Produce and maintain architectural documentation including diagrams, patterns, and standards.
• Advise stakeholders on cloud readiness, modernization strategies, and emerging technologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8-11 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise systems
• Demonstrated experience designing secure, scalable systems in federal environments
• Proficient in web applications, web infrastructure (servers, network appliances)
• Proficient with security, databases, and APIs
• Proficient with Agile methodology
• Proficient in languages such as Java and Python
• Proficient in MySQL, Mongo DB, Solr, and OracleExperience with secure coding practices and federal software development environments
• Experience with PHP (/Symfony), Angular, and NodeStrong understanding of federal security frameworks and compliance requirements
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Desired Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks, containerization, and API-first design
