Senior Strategy and Operations Manager, Global CategoriesWe are seeking a Senior Strategy and Operations Manager to help shape and implement category growth initiatives across our global marketplace. This role requires a dual mentality: a strategic leader with a deep understanding of two-sided marketplaces, strong data intuition, and the ability to break down complex problems into clear frameworks; and an embedded operator who can move quickly, work through ambiguity, and drive execution with a hands-on approach.This role is best suited for candidates based in select markets to improve working hour overlap with leaders on the West Coast of the U.S. and in Europe. Some travel to both regions will be expected annually.Key Responsibilities- Identify, evaluate, and size opportunities in categories aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Conduct market and competitor research to support cases for new category opportunities and define launch strategies.
- Track, analyze, and synthesize business performance metrics, highlighting risks, progress, and opportunities.
- Develop and support test plans for buyer and seller strategies to drive supply and demand in priority categories.
- Partner with Product and cross-functional collaborators to create a shared vision and translate it into actionable plans.
- Collaborate across global category teams to understand current and future strategies, tools, and levers that can support category launches.
- Build detailed operational plans in close partnership with internal and external collaborators, including Product, Marketing, Seller teams, Trust, Shipping, Finance, and third-party partners.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, including speaking publicly to large internal and external audiences.
- Manage collaborators effectively and work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Gather and analyze data to generate insights, recommendations, and executive-ready materials.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in retail, operations, business management, and/or consulting.
- Including 2+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a strategy or planning role at a major corporation.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Experience working in or with two-sided marketplaces is a plus.
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$111,200 - $190,100
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
