Position Summary:

The Sr. Solution Analyst, Specialty Health plays a strategic role in advancing McKesson Specialty Health's digital transformation initiatives. This senior individual contributor is responsible for shaping solution direction and ensuring the integrity, scalability, and business alignment of digital platform investments across patient, provider, physician, and operational experiences.

The role serves as a trusted solution partner to Specialty Health business leaders and Product Ownership teams, translating complex business needs into sustainable solution options before they enter the delivery lifecycle. Leveraging deep expertise in specialty pharmacy, patient support programs (PSPs), digital platforms, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities, the Sr. Solution Analyst influences solution decisions that drive operational efficiency, improve stakeholder experiences, and support long-term digital modernization goals.

Operating within a highly regulated healthcare environment, this role collaborates with cross-functional technology and business teams, contributes to governance and solution assessment processes, and promotes best practices in solution design, innovation, and digital enablement across the Specialty Health portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Strategy and Design
  • Lead solution shaping activities across the Specialty Health digital portfolio, including patient support program migrations, healthcare provider portals, physician-facing solutions, patient engagement platforms, and AI-enabled operational capabilities.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable solution options across CRM, portal, integration, analytics, and AI platforms.
  • Evaluate solution alternatives and provide recommendations that balance business objectives, platform capabilities, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
  • Identify potential risks, technical debt, customization impacts, and cross-program dependencies during solution design activities.

Business Partnership and Requirements Enablement
  • Serve as the primary solution partner to Specialty Health business stakeholders and Product Ownership teams.
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts to refine and shape business requirements prior to backlog prioritization and delivery planning.
  • Facilitate alignment between business objectives, operational processes, and technology solutions.
  • Provide specialty pharmacy, patient support program, and healthcare digital expertise to support informed decision-making.


Solution Governance and Assessment
  • Participate in solution review and governance processes to ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
  • Contribute solution expertise during architecture, assessment, and intake reviews to support effective solution direction and delivery outcomes.
  • Ensure solution recommendations consider regulatory, privacy, security, and operational requirements within the healthcare environment.
  • Promote consistency, solution quality, and governance adherence across digital initiatives.

Innovation and AI Enablement
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies across Specialty Health operations, including patient intake, triage, adherence programs, case management, and healthcare provider engagement.
  • Partner with architecture, platform, and business teams to assess business value, operational readiness, and implementation feasibility of innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that improve business efficiency, stakeholder experience, and digital capabilities.
  • Support the advancement of McKesson's digital innovation strategy through solution thought leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Influence
  • Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, product ownership, solution architecture, and delivery teams.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship on solution analysis best practices, business process alignment, and healthcare domain considerations.
  • Influence solution direction through expertise, collaboration, and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Represent Specialty Health digital solutions within cross-functional forums, planning activities, and strategic discussions.


Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
  • Expert knowledge of solution analysis, digital platform strategy, and solution design principles within healthcare or life sciences environments.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, portal, integration, analytics, and AI-enabled platforms supporting enterprise digital ecosystems.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of specialty pharmacy, patient support programs, healthcare operations, and digital engagement models.
  • Experience contributing to solution governance, assessment processes, and strategic technology decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, requirements elicitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence business and technology leaders through effective communication and solution recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, product development practices, and enterprise solution lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of healthcare privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including PHIPA and PIPEDA.
  • Demonstrated leadership through subject matter expertise, collaboration, and strategic problem solving.


Business Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of relevant professional experience in solution analysis, business analysis, product ownership, digital transformation, or related healthcare technology roles.
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise digital platforms in regulated healthcare, life sciences, specialty pharmacy, or patient support program environments.
  • Demonstrated success in solution shaping, requirements refinement, governance participation, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working with digital platforms supporting patient, provider, physician, and operational business capabilities.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled solutions, healthcare data management, and enterprise digital modernization initiatives is considered an asset.


Working Conditions:
  • In office requirement, we are Flex and Connect with 2 days a week in office
  • Occasional travel is required to support stakeholder meetings, project initiatives, and business engagements.
