PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Design and develop highly scalable and available software applications for mission-critical systems. Work with product management to design or simplify APIs. Write clean, functional software code for the front-end and back-end features. Design, develop, and maintain client-side and server-side software components including Web, REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and real-time systems and batches. Prototype ideas quickly using cutting-edge software technologies. Provide technical software solutions to meet business requirements. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (5 years)

2. Experience with Design Patterns, MVC and frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot. (3 years)

3. Experience in scalable API development (3 years)

4. Experience in CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deploying the code (3 years).

5. Experience with NOSQL database, access patterns and complex query formation (3 years).

6. Experience in source code management tools like Github. (3 years).

7. Experience with cloud application development. (3 years).

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $169,576.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
