PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Build and maintain software application features in support of PayPal's post transaction compliance system to provide tools to investigators enabling them to perform the investigations smoothly. Solve complex software development problems on PayPal's compliance platform. Architect, design, and implement new Application Programming Interfaces (API) endpoints to support new software features for PayPal's distributed systems. Advise on API best practices, and contribute to platform APIs, libraries, and product tools. Develop high quality code, automate processes, and efficiently monitor developed products. Ensure code quality and maintainability by evolving architecture and tech stack, refactoring, standards, and improving build and test systems. Monitor and test newly implemented applications for reliability, security, and performance. Document findings and present to senior management with proposed solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $187,741.00-270,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
