PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in New York, NY
Job Duties: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust backend systems and services. Architect and implement large-scale Full Stack solutions. Enable digital and mobile payments on behalf of consumers and merchants worldwide. Create libraries, tooling, standards and platforms to enable teams to build features for the millions of users globally. Collaborate closely with large domain teams, we ensure seamless integration and continuous enhancement of our mobile services. Enhance the user experience, fortifying security measures, or optimizing performance. Build innovative solutions that delight customers and drive business growth. Collaborate with talented peers and work on high-impact projects in an agile environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions that drive our business objectives. Mentor junior developers and contribute to the strategic direction of our backend architecture. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience developing scalable applications using TypeScript (3 years).
2. Experience building backend and enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot (3 years).
3. Experience creating dynamic web interfaces and applications using JavaScript (3 years).
4. Experience building server-side applications using Node.js (3 years).
5. Experience designing and implementing APIs using GraphQL (2 years).
6. Experience developing microservices and REST-based services (2 years).
7. Experience integrating and managing Kafka-based event-driven systems (1 year).
8. Experience implementing caching and data storage solutions using Redis (1 year).
9. Experience monitoring and troubleshooting systems using Splunk (1 year).
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
New York, NY | Salary: $160,805.00-270,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
