PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in Austin, TX
Job Duties: Design, develop, and deploy robust, scalable, and maintainable web-based Ruby on Rails applications. Analyze software product requirements and transform them into technical designs by collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers. Lead development projects with other engineers, architects, managers, and Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to create new software products and solutions that meet business requirements. Design and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications, document and test systems, and modify as appropriate. Research, analyze, design, develop, and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Attend pairing sessions with other developers on the team for collaboration and education. Oversee the stability and performance of existing applications, providing support as needed. Drive team discuss ions on technical strategy, system architecture, and engineering design to meet various functional and non-functional requirements. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications service using Ruby on Rails
2. Experience with Java programming languages
3. Experience in maintaining code equality using RSpec for unit and integration testing and Postman
4. Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases
5. Experience in CI/CD tools like Jenkins
6. Experience in deploying, and managing scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using cloud computing technologies like AWS or GCP
7. Experience in creating Splunk reports and Dashboards
8. Experience in writing technical design documentation using tools like Miro, Confluence
9. Experience in code management system like Github

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
Austin, TX | Salary: $163,550.00-273,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
