Full Job Description
How we work with AI:

AI tooling is a core part of how we operate, and we expect engineers at this level to use it effectively to increase velocity and quality.

You treat AI tools as a collaborator, not a crutch. You know when to prompt, when to code by hand, and how to critically evaluate AI-generated output. You use AI to accelerate development, explore unfamiliar codebases, and improve productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, and ownership.

You actively contribute to improving how the team leverages AI, whether through refining workflows, sharing best practices, or identifying opportunities to build internal tooling.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your frontend skills to solve complex customer experience problems across multiple surfaces and user journeys
  • Collaborate with the rest of the web developers to design and evolve frontend frameworks, components, and services that power the app and web features
  • Design and implement scalable frontend architecture and patterns that are stable, flexible, and a pleasure to use
  • Define and influence coding standards and best practices that raise the quality and maintainability of the codebase
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines and frontend developer workflows
  • Write unit tests for new features, and improve coverage for existing ones
  • Create and participate in code reviews
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies and frameworks, building proofs of concepts and analyzing their impact on performance, scalability, and developer productivity
  • Independently lead development of complex features from concept through launch, ensuring high quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with Backend engineers to design APIs that can support frontend features.
  • Mentor and support the growth of other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing
  • Partner cross-functionally to translate ambiguous product requirements into scalable technical solutions

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software development experience, delivering products at web scale
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and state management patterns (Context, Redux, or similar), as well as experience integrating with GraphQL and Rest APIs
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as Next.js, including server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and performance optimization techniques
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, performance optimization, accessibility (a11y), and web standards
  • Experience communicating with REST APIs
  • Ability to integrate 3rd party SDKs and APIs
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a strong engineering culture
  • Effective remote collaboration skills with distributed teams
  • Self-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a passion for problem solving / innovating with the development teams
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
  • Experience working on complex systems where performance, scalability, and reliability are critical considerations

Good To Have:
  • Experience with Content Management Systems like Contentful
  • Experience with modern observability and monitoring tools (Datadog, Sentry, NewRelic, etc.)
  • Experience contributing to full-stack or cross-platform applications (web and mobile)

Engineering teams are responsible for supporting appropriate security controls, including management, operational, and technical controls in addition to general GoodRx best practices, such as reading and adhering to the security policies and procedures, being vigilant and observant of potential security threats, etc.
