As an Engineer in the team you will design and implement major database components to allow Amazon Aurora to scale and perform for the growing customer demands under the project of Aurora Global Database.

Delivering software features and improvements to major portions of your team's software.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience performing security activities across one or more phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), such as security design review, threat modeling, secure code review, and security testing
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience with threat modeling and penetration testing
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields, or experience using design patterns in object-oriented code
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience with interrupt service routines
- 7+ years of server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems experience
- Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
