Sr. Sales Executive, Seattle

Opportunity

Incumbent is responsible for driving profitable sales growth of Kohler and Sterling brands through the remodeling, showroom, custom home builder channels and assigned distributor partners. The position combines channel development, specification influence, and strategic distributor account management responsibilities to increase market penetration, share growth, and long-term customer engagement. Prepares annual sales forecast. Increases penetration and market share through focused selling efforts with remodelers, custom home builders, residential designers, showrooms including Kohler Stores, consumer and trade-centric locations, and key distributor partners.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develops a focused sales strategy and execution plan for a specific zone of responsibility, targeting accelerated growth within the remodeling, showroom, custom home builder channels and assigned distributor partners.
  • Develops relationships with key principals in the channels associated with this position's responsibility, leveraging industry and relevant experiences.
  • Serves as the primary account manager for assigned independent distributor partners, developing and executing joint business plans that drive profitable growth, market share gains, inventory optimization, showroom excellence, and sales alignment.
  • Builds executive and operational relationships with distributor ownership, branch leadership, showroom managers, purchasing teams, and outside sales personnel to strengthen strategic partnerships and increase Kohler & Sterling brand preference.
  • Conducts regular business reviews with distributor partners, analyzing sales performance, market share, product mix, inventory levels, program effectiveness, and growth opportunities while developing action plans to achieve mutual business objectives.
  • Analyzes and evaluates assigned accounts, partners, and customer sales trends and potential. Analyzes competition, economic and business conditions, and overall performance. Recommends changes in sales programs and customer focus to make the territory most effective in delivering short- and long-term sales objectives.
  • Works as part of an expanded team to develop annual Distributor Account Plans and overall Market Development Plans, ensuring the correct sales alignment, resources, and strategic focus short and long term.
  • Coordinates cross-functional resources including marketing, training, customer service, supply chain, category management, and leadership teams to support distributor growth initiatives and customer engagement activities.
  • Ensures distributor showroom displays, merchandising standards, product launches, promotional programs, training initiatives, and inventory objectives are effectively implemented to maximize customer experience and sales growth.
  • Works with product and channel marketing to execute programs and trainings for targeted remodelers, custom home builders, residential designers, and distributor sales organizations.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with other sales verticals and appropriate internal support teams including customer service, supply chain, marketing, product management, and leadership.
  • Engages in appropriate trade organizations based on viability and overall impact within the zone, including NARI, ASID, NKBA, and NAHB.
  • Attends and participates in company sales meetings, trade and industry meetings, shows, and conventions to increase knowledge of Kohler plumbing products, improve selling techniques, and cultivate strong working relationships.
  • Prepares various correspondence, reports, forecasts, account plans, and forms related to daily activities, expenses, claims, and distributor business reviews.


Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in Sales, Business Administration or Marketing.
  • 3+ years of sales experience with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results is required along with consistent level of performance as a sales professional meeting or exceeding objectives.
  • Must possess excellent skills in written and oral communication with all levels of management and with outside contacts.

Travel
  • Travel to trade shows, manufacturing plants, and customer visits as needed, approximately 10 - 20%.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
