Job Title: Sr. R&D Manager
Location: Orangeburg, NY
Type: Direct Hire on site daily
Salary: $195k-$220k + 15% bonus
Responsibilities
- Support market products by providing technical leadership and project management
- Communicate program objectives clearly to assigned personnel and oversee planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure timely completion within budget
- Manage R&D staff responsible for investigations related to complaints, CAPA, and continuous improvement efforts
- Assist in transferring technology from R&D to manufacturing both domestically and internationally
- Ensure documentation, testing procedures, and manufacturing practices comply with standards
- Conduct technical meetings to report progress and resolve issues of major significance
- Manage on-market assays, algorithms, reagents, solutions, controls, and calibrators
- Assist with new product development assays in line with departmental goals
- Supervise a team of technical professionals
Requirements
- MS degree with 15+ years relevant experience in the IVD space OR PhD with 10+ years relevant experience in the IVD space
- 7+ years managing scientists or engineers at various levels
- Ability to travel internationally to China 1-2 times a year (no language requirement)
- Proficient in complaint handling and CAPA procedures
- Strong technical leadership, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
- Effective time management, team leadership, and cross-functional relationship building
- Excellent communication skills
