About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to lead and support a high-impact regional project portfolio valued at approximately $15M, encompassing 30 to 50+ strategic initiatives that align with organizational priorities and business growth objectives.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, PMO, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing project management practices, developing and coaching project management professionals, and ensuring successful delivery across a complex portfolio of initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executives, project leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders, helping teams navigate risks, dependencies, resource demands, and organizational change.

What You'll Do
Lead and Develop High-Performing Project Teams
  • Coach, mentor, and develop project managers, fostering career growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage performance, professional development, and project management best practices across the PMO organization.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
Drive Portfolio and Project Success
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of strategic projects throughout the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes while staying aligned with scope, timelines, budgets, and organizational priorities.
  • Manage project interdependencies, risks, issues, resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Support both traditional project delivery and Agile methodologies as required.
Partner with Executive and Business Leaders
  • Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, and key stakeholders to drive alignment and enable informed decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the regional project portfolio and provide updates, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to proactively address challenges and remove barriers to success.
Improve Processes and Operational Excellence
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain governance standards, reporting frameworks, and portfolio management processes.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators and delivery teams to maintain accurate resource-loaded schedules and portfolio reporting.
  • Support portfolio reviews, prioritization discussions, and strategic planning activities.
Foster Communication and Alignment
  • Facilitate regular project reviews, stakeholder meetings, and communication forums.
  • Ensure project teams remain informed, engaged, and aligned on priorities and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify impacts across business units and coordinate effective mitigation strategies.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of project management, PMO, portfolio management, or related experience.
  • 1-3+ years of people leadership, supervisory, or team management experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and governance practices.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment.
  • Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions such as HP PPM or comparable platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, technology, or business initiatives.
