Full Job Description
Comfort Systems USA Southwest is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead assigned mechanical, plumbing, and sheet metal construction projects from preconstruction turnover through closeout. This role owns project execution, financial performance, schedule, contracts, procurement, billing, risk, and team leadership.

What you will do
• Lead day-to-day operations for assigned projects and supervise Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, and Assistant Project Managers.
• Partner with field supervision to build cohesive project teams, plan labor resources, monitor productivity, and keep teams focused on safe, timely execution.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, forecasting, work-in-progress reporting, backlog, cash position, profitability, and monthly contract valuations.
• Oversee contract administration and documentation to reduce risk, avoid claims, and protect the interests of the company and its clients.
• Lead preconstruction turnover, permitting, project setup, scheduling, submittal management, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate material and equipment procurement, execute buyout plans, and negotiate and administer subcontract agreements.
• Develop billing schedules of values; manage progress billings, retention, receivables, and collection activity in accordance with due dates.
• Price, negotiate, document, and process change conditions and change orders.
• Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices, and manage tools and rental equipment across assigned projects.
• Identify and manage project risk, analyze variances, forecast requirements, and initiate corrective action when performance differs from plan.
• Recruit, select, train, schedule, coach, counsel, mentor, and, when necessary, discipline project team members.
• Contribute operational insight to strategic planning, quality and customer-service standards, audits, trend analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Build productive partnerships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, and maintain clear communication at all levels of management.
• Comply with company policies and safety practices, and exercise stop-work authority whenever an unsafe condition is present.
What you bring
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or at least 10 years of progressive construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing mechanical, plumbing, and/or sheet metal construction projects, including project financials and execution.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, work in progress, backlog, cost forecasting, profitability, and financial strategy.
• Working knowledge of construction contracts, legal principles, project risk, change management, procurement, and subcontract administration.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, conflict-management, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in presentations with customers, clients, managers, teams, and the public.
• Ability to analyze project cost data and calculate percentages, proportions, area, circumference, volume, and other construction-related figures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project.
• Calm, focused judgment under pressure and the ability to manage competing deadlines while modeling company culture.
