Job Title: Sr. Project Engineer - Development Engineering

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Engineer within Development Engineering. As a Senior Project Engineer with the JSF LiftSystem Program you will have the opportunity to support the delivery and services of the war fighter on behalf of Rolls-Royce. You will be responsible to provide programmatic leadership to an extended, multi-functional integrated product team (IPT) to apply a systems approach to the realization of a new system or the modification of an existing one. You will define, plan, monitor, control, and deliver solutions to meet stakeholder requirements, and plan and deliver verification programs to ensure that Rolls-Royce's products meet business, customer and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will get to define, agree and integrate the plans with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads. You will take into account both the scope of the overall project / work package and activities required to understand and then produce a solution to the requirements and the delivery of robust verification, certification and qualification strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Engineering, Program, and Customer technical interface for the relevant work package, ensuring all solutions are managed with a strong focus on safety.
  • Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain, and timescale) are identified,managed (including integration of risk activities inproject plan), and escalation of risks in accordance withrisk management plan.
  • Ensure IPT work is integrated with all relevant higher-level plans - including relevant Project Management Plan and Risk Management Plan.
  • Definition and delivery of robust verification, certification, and qualification strategies with internal and external customers.
  • Managing and delivering the necessary compliance documents, from requirements capture through to evidence of compliance appropriate software / tools.
  • Planning and coordinating experiments(rig, engine, and/or flight testing) including instrumentation and data analysis requirements.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor27s Degree in Engineering with 5+years27 experience, or
  • Master27s degree in Engineering with 3+years27 experience, or
  • PhD with 0+years27 experience
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

  • Project / Function Management Engineering Experience
  • Experience leading or managing a team for execution of a program or in support of a functional skillset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative; and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
  • An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications
  • Familiarity with external customer interface as well delivery of engine assembly and testing experience at a system level.
