This role offers location flexibility and is open to candidates across the United States.

Candidates based in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area will be hired in a hybrid capacity and are expected to work onsite at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific inoffice days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.

About the Role:

As a Senior Program Manager within the McKesson Commercial Strategy & Innovation segment, this role will be responsible for successful delivery of key programs and projects that span multiple McKesson business units & segments. The Senior Program Manager is committed to continuous alignment of program goals with the organizations strategic objectives. This role will work closely with key stakeholders and partners across these segments on planning, monitoring, and execution of these strategic initiatives to deliver program/projects on scope, on time, and on budget.

Many of the programs in CSI involve software, data, platform, or integration components. As such, this role requires a leader with strong program management discipline and technical fluency to work effectively with architects, engineering teams, and technical product management. The individual will translate complex technical concepts into clear business implications while ensuring alignment across technical and commercial teams.

What Youll Do:

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Serves as the primary lead in facilitating fullspectrum commercialization of products and services wrapped into programs & projects across McKesson.

  • Provide organization, coordination and leadership for crossfunctional project teams to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.

  • Responsible for developing & maintaining detailed project/program outlines, including scope, deliverables, goals, budgets, & timelines.

  • Ensures workstreams continue to execute/implement according to the overall program plan and identifies/highlights/works to resolve areas where workstreams run into roadblocks.

  • Provides monitoring and support on program status, key performance indicators, and other qualitative/quantitative metrics to key stakeholders and leaders across multiple segments.

  • Conducts regular program reviews with key stakeholders and leadership to keep teams apprised of progress, next steps, and key risks identified.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Communication Champion

  • Identify, document, and mitigate key risks, issues, and dependencies across the program and recommend actions to ensure successful completion of projects.

  • Serve as the central connector across executives, crossfunctional partners, workstream leads, and technical teams by ensuring communication is clear, timely, consistent, and audienceappropriate.

  • Translate complex program updates (risks, issues, dependencies, technical or operational implications) into crisp, actionable insights for executive leaders and stakeholders.

  • Elevate risks, issues, and bottlenecks with clarity providing context, recommended mitigation paths, and decision requests to Sponsors, SteerCo, and leaders.

  • Maintain high program visibility by proactively sharing status, milestones, KPIs, and emerging concerns through established reporting cadences (workstream huddles, biweekly status, SteerCo, dashboards).

  • Drive alignment across functions by ensuring all stakeholders receive the right information at the right time, reducing ambiguity and preventing miscommunication.

  • Foster a culture of transparency and accountability, encouraging open dialogue on challenges, tradeoffs, and interdependencies across teams.

  • Ensure expectations are aligned early and often, adapting communication style for executives, peers, and technical partners to accelerate decisionmaking and collaboration

CrossFunctional & Technical Collaboration

  • Serve as contact & advocate for and between product management, technical teams, and business leaders to ensure transparency, accurate messaging, and understanding across all levels of the organization.

  • Works closely with partners in Product, IT, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Legal, Compliance, and other functions to ensure correct scoping and deliverables for key program initiatives.

  • Identifies, facilitates, and advances thought processes and work as related to overall program and organizational objectives.

Technical & Solution Alignment

  • Engage directly with architects, engineers, and technical product partners to understand solution options, system constraints, technical feasibility, and integration points. This supports communication across functional groups and dependent groups.

  • Translate complex technical concepts, system behaviors, and solution designs into clear, digestible updates for nontechnical and executive stakeholders.

  • Maintain visibility into technical workstreams to ensure architectural decisions, build progress, and technical blockers are proactively raised and incorporated into overall program delivery.

  • Collaborate with engineering and MT partners to ensure technical requirements are thoroughly captured, validated, and reflected in program plans, deliverables, and milestone tracking.

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience. Less years required if has relevant Masters or Doctorate qualifications.
  • 10+ Years of experience in Program Management of large-scale initiatives in highly matrixed organizations with track record of successful delivery; preferred experience partnering with technical product teams and engineering teams.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, time and stakeholder management, facilitation, and organization skills

  • Experience partnering with product, finance and go-to-market teams to evaluate product pricing models

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, drug supply chain, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Technically fluent; able to engage confidently with architects and engineering teams.

  • Comfortable navigating technical ambiguity and driving clarity across multiple technical and business stakeholders.

  • Strong systems thinker who connects technical execution to business impact.

  • Robust understanding of project & product management methodologies and toolsets (PMP, Pragmatic experience, etc. preferred)

  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority and reporting relationships

  • Strong power point and excel skills

  • Ability to work through processes, remain organized, and manage complex matters/cases and multiple stakeholders both virtually and in-person.

  • Ability to work proactively when anticipating issues and solving problems.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and work in ambiguity while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strategic problem solving and decision-making ability.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Commutability to Irving, TX is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
