The Sr. Product Manager develops extensive knowledge of the Larson Davis product lines and makes sound product management decisions. The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for the margin contribution of the product line(s). Provides support to sales and marketing groups and may supervise PM, Jr. PM or AE's when applicable. Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, and provides concentrated training in specific product lines to application engineers and sales channels. Responsible for providing Total Customer Satisfaction user experience.
Additional Duties: - Product Line Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Define product line strategies consistent with corporate objectives, identify new product opportunities and emerging technologies, lead product lifecycle planning including product improvements, derivatives, and obsolescence planning and conduct competitive analysis and market research to guide product strategy.
- Product Line Business Ownership
- Responsible for margin contribution and profitability of assigned product lines, maintain product pricing strategies and cost structures, conduct regular product cost and profitability reviews, support OEM opportunities and strategic customer relationships.
- Product Development Leadership
- Define new product specifications and technical requirements in collaboration with engineering, guide verification and validation strategies for new products, participate in New Model Approval (NMA) processes and product introduction planning, evaluate new technologies and emerging applications.
- Sales, Customer & Market Development
- Provide technical leadership and support for sales teams and application engineers, deliver technical seminars, product training, and customer presentations, participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer visits, support resolution of complex customer issues.
- Industry & Technical Leadership
- Represent the company in relevant industry organizations and technical committees when applicable, monitor industry standards, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies, provide guidance on technical trends impacting product strategy and development.
- Team Development
- Work closely in support divisional leadership across all aspects of the business including Sales, Operations, Engineering, support development of internal product knowledge across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:- Education: Four-year degree in acoustics, physics, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent specialized training.
- Experience: Five to eight years of practice, training and experience as product manager with technical products with a focus on acoustics or vibration. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with ERP and CRM systems. Technical documentation writing skills. Practical knowledge of electronic instrumentation design and cloud based computing environments. Experience working with marketing teams on literature, promotion, technical writing.
- Travel Requirement: Up to 50% of the time as needed, domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree preferred. History in product management or engineering management role with technical instrumentation preferred.
