DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a
Sr. Principal Scrum Master to join a program developing and fielding a new ground-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) radar system. This role will support the SW engineering and development functions within the Compute Integrated Product Team (IPT) focused on delivering the radar systems computer system infrastructure to include HW and SW configuration items. As a scrum master you will work closely with the IPT lead, SW architect, and SW component product owners to implement, manage, and oversee and Agile framework driving operational excellence in product deliveries. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of Agile principles and processes. Experience in managing multiple scrum teams across the SW development lifecycle is a plus.
In this job, you will:
Closely collaborate with IPT leadership and SW product owners to plan and manage SW design, development, and integration activities
Support the removal of impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement
Manage and maintain Jira boards
Lead routine team standup meetings
Plan, coordinate, and execute planning events
Prepare and track performance metrics
Provide guidance and help educate the team in Agile processes
Support the development of SW roadmaps
Support in risk management
Support schedule, cost, and Earned Value Management
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
At least 3 years experience acting as a SW scrum master
Previous experience as a SW developer, SW integrator, or SW tester
Extensive experience with the Atlassian tool set (JIRA, Confluence)
Experience with the entire SW development life cycle
Familiar with Systems Engineering principles
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Familiar with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Previous experience transitioning a team or organization into an Agile framework execution mindset
Previous experience managing multiple Scrum teams
Understanding of the basic building blocks of Radar Systems
Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principles
Familiar with Earned Value management
Experience with the use of Cameo

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
