Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, CD38 Pipeline ImmunologyAbout This RoleThe Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs - CD38 Pipeline will play a key strategic role within Biogen's Global Medical organization. Reporting to the Head of Global Medical Nephrology, Transplant and CD38 Pipeline, this individual will lead medical strategy for new, non-nephrology/non transplant indications for the anti-CD38 pipeline for other immune mediated diseases driven by pathogenic antibody production. The role focuses on shaping the medical perspective for pipeline programs by integrating disease-area expertise, scientific insights, and evolving treatment paradigms to inform development strategy and long-term asset positioning. The individual will work closely with Research, Clinical Development, and cross-functional partners to ensure the CD38 pipeline programs are aligned with unmet medical needs and future clinical practice.
What You'll Do- Lead development of global medical strategies for the CD38 pipeline indications including evidence generation and KME engagement strategy.
- Lead or contribute to the development of indication specific publication strategies and scientific narrative development.
- Partner with Research, Clinical Development and Commercial to shape Target Product Profiles (TPPs) and medical differentiation strategies.
- Maintain a deep understanding of competitive landscapes and evolving standards of care in the pipeline indications.
- Engage with external scientific experts and investigators to inform CD38 pipeline strategy.
- Collaborate across Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to integrate medical insights and provide sound medical perspectives for cross functional deliverables including market research.
- Support internal governance discussions by synthesizing scientific and clinical information into clear strategic perspectives.
Who You AreYou are a scientifically driven medical leader with strong expertise in immunology, neuroimmunology or endocrinology and the ability to translate complex scientific insights into actionable medical strategy. You work effectively in cross-functional environments and are comfortable collaborating with research, development, and commercial teams to shape pipeline programs and future clinical positioning. You are a self-starter who can develop and execute strategies with minimal direction.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a scientific or clinical discipline.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting pipeline or early-stage asset strategy.
- Deep scientific expertise in immunology and autoimmune disease biology
- Ability to synthesize complex scientific and clinical information into strategic medical insights.
- Experience working in cross-functional environments across research, development, and medical teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills- Experience contributing to pipeline portfolio strategy or therapeutic area strategy.
- Familiarity with early asset development (Phase 2+) and clinical trial strategy including Target Product Profiles.
- Strong understanding of competitive landscapes and evolving standards of care in immunology.
- Experience engaging with external scientific experts and academic investigators to gain insights to inform medical strategies. #LI-SM1

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
