Job Description

As a Sr Manufacturing Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead global Manufacturing Engineering, drive operational excellence, and implement efficient processes. You will report directly to our Plant Manager, and you'll work out of our Acton, MA location on an On-site work schedule.

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to develop, implement and maintain methods and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Using your technical expertise, you will estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. You will add value and expertise to the Phoenix Controls site by identifying cost reduction and yield improvement opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain process specifications, equipment setup sheets, SOP/ SOS, control plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, and training materials
  • Support NPI builds and product transfers; lead reviews, tooling readiness, process validation, capability studies, and production release activities
  • Use SPC, DOE, capability analysis, defect Pareto analysis, and structured root-cause methods to improve FPY, OEE, throughput, changeover time, rework, scrap, and labor productivity
  • Tool/equipment repair schedule and calibration. Establish preventive and predictive maintenance requirements with Maintenance; monitor calibration, equipment health, spare parts, obsolescence, and recovery plans
  • ProEngineer/Creo/PTC/ TeamCenter material and drawing creation and maintenance
    SAP BOM creation and maintenance
  • Fixture design/creation and tooling/equipment sourcing
  • Interacting with outside vendors to resolve issues and improve performance
  • Idea generation and brainstorm solutions
  • Team coordination, Coordinate resolution, DFMA mindset
  • Process definition, production line and work cell set-up/maintenance
  • Project planning and management for CapEx or automation
  • Mentor technicians and provide support to all other company disciplines as needs
  • Cost improvement analysis and productivity improvements for manufacturing process
  • Drive technical solutions and solve everyday issues


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related roles
  • Expertise in manufacturing process design, equipment selection, and implementation to drive operational excellence
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools
  • Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools to support process development and validation
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and supply chain to ensure product manufacturability and compliance


WE VALUE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Proficiency with PFMEA, control plans, 8D, DMAIC, DOE, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, and data analysis software.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification and demonstrated continuous-improvement results.
  • Experience with MES, equipment connectivity, traceability, SAP or another ERP/MRP system, and automated manufacturing data collection.
  • Project management capability including scope, schedule, risk, capital justification, supplier management, and benefit validation.
  • Experience in high-reliability, regulated, industrial, life-safety, or other complex electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (variant configuration would be a plus)

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,400 to $138,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
