Position Summary:
Samyang America is seeking a commercially driven Senior Manager of Shopper Marketing to lead retailer-specific marketing strategies and drive velocity, sell-out, and in-market performance across key retail channels. This role connects Brand Strategy with Retail Execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead customer / channel-specific marketing strategies aligned with brand objectives and retailer priorities
• Drive initiatives to improve velocity, sell-out, conversion, distribution, and market share across key retail accounts
• Lead the planning and execution of promotions, displays, POSM, and in-store visibility programs to enhance shopper engagement
• Build and execute comprehensive AMPPS strategies (Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, Promotions, Shelf / Space) to optimize retail performance
• Partner closely with Sales on Joint Business Planning (JBP), supporting growth-driving initiatives and retailer negotiations
• Identify retailer-specific growth opportunities, risks, and competitive threats, and develop proactive action plans
• Monitor, analyze, and report retail KPIs, promotional effectiveness, and ROI to guide decision-making
• Lead retailer activation calendars, ensuring alignment with brand campaigns, seasonal priorities, and commercialization timelines
• Ensure brand campaigns and communication platforms translate into shopper-centric retail executions
• Collaborate on retail media, digital commerce, and eCommerce initiatives (e.g., Walmart Connect, Retail Media Networks)
• Support PDP and digital shelf optimization to improve online conversion, content effectiveness, and visibility
• Act as a key liaison between HQ, Brand Team, and Sales, ensuring cross-functional alignment on retail initiatives
• Translate market trends, retailer dynamics, competitive intelligence, and shopper insights into actionable HQ implications
• Provide structured performance updates, post-promotion analysis, and business reviews to internal and HQ stakeholders
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to trade investment, activation effectiveness, and shopper engagement strategies
Requirements:
• 11-15+ years of experience in Brand / Marketing Management
• Strong FMCG / CPG industry experience
• Proven experience managing major U.S. retail accounts (Walmart, Target, Kroger)
• Direct retailer-facing experience or retailer-side marketing / merchandising experience
• Demonstrated expertise in omnichannel retail execution (online & offline)
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs (velocity, sell-out, ROI)
• Strong commercial and analytical capabilities
• Proven experience working within cross-functional & HQ matrix structures
The base salary for this position is between $130,000.00 and $140,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
