The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Health has an exciting opportunity for a full time Sr. Manager, Research Support to work in Miami, FL.

The Senior Manager, Research Support leads will oversee all the implementation of projects including assessments, social network intervention components and tracking activities. He/She will supervise the assessors, liaise with the community partner, and supervise tracking of participants. The analyst will also participate in manuscript preparation and be responsible for the back translation of survey assessment materials. He/she will also participate in qualitative and social network data analysis.

Core responsibilities:
  • Conducts meetings with research staff and ensures functions are coordinated in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides technical support and resolves operational problems.
  • Oversees department budget and identifies areas of opportunity for cost reduction.
  • Assists in the preparation and publication of manuscripts.
  • Recruits and trains research staff and prepares performance reports and disciplinary recommendations for the leadership team.
  • Analyzes reports, data briefs, and auxiliary publications for new topic modules.
  • Defines and produces indicators for a data visualization platform.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field. Masters Degree or equivalent in their specialty preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including: Implementing community-based participatory research projects and collecting data.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Knowledge and comfortability with diverse populations
  • Designing recruitment materials and QR access codes.
  • Creating semi-structured interviews
  • Creating coding/thematic guides
  • Preparing materials/content for focus group discussions
  • Preparing research protocols and standard operating procedures for data collection
  • Exporting datasets from RedCap, Qualtrics, and Network Canvas
  • Cleaning, managing and verifying data quality
  • Travel to different sites to implement and supervise the implementation of the project
  • Must have their own transportation and a valid driver license. This position requires driving to different implementation sites and community partners
  • This person needs to be bilingual (English/Spanish)
