Job DescriptionNBCU Local Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Manager, Production Operations to lead day-to-day production operations for NBC4 and Telemundo 52. Reporting to the Director, Technology & Operations, this role oversees control room and studio execution, Director leadership, production planning, staffing coordination, show support, and operational readiness across linear, digital, streaming, breaking news, special events, and live production needs.
Responsibilities- Lead daily production operations for NBC4 and Telemundo 52, including control rooms, studios, directors, show execution, staffing, and operational readiness.
- Serve as the primary production operations partner for News, Digital, Programming, Sales, Technology, and station leadership.
- Lead, coach, schedule, and develop Directors and production operations staff, including performance management, training, coverage planning, payroll review, and freelance support.
- Establish consistent directing standards, production workflows, show-request processes, escalation protocols, and operational checklists.
- Support new show launches, format changes, special productions, remote/field productions, live events, breaking news, and emergency operations.
- Partner with Technology and Media Operations leaders on workflow modernization, production systems, media movement, content availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Track operational performance, incidents, staffing utilization, overtime, and budget-related activity to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, customer-service-oriented culture that supports a 24/7/365 multiplatform production operation.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Progressive experience in live broadcast, media production, production operations, newsroom, control room, studio, or related media environment.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience, with the ability to coach teams, manage performance, resolve issues, and maintain accountability under deadline pressure.
- Strong knowledge of live production workflows, directing practices, control rooms, studios, remote production, digital/streaming production, staffing models, SOPs, and operational planning.
- Excellent communication, project management, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to partner across News, Technology, Media Operations, Digital, Sales, Programming, vendors, freelancers, and corporate teams.

- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights, and extended hours as needed for breaking news, live events, special productions, and emergency operations.
Desired:- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- Experience leading Directors, production crews, or control-room teams in a union or multiplatform broadcast environment.
- Experience using reporting, documentation, operational reviews, and performance metrics to improve workflows and outcomes.
- Ability to identify operational opportunities, implement sustainable improvements, and communicate production and technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in emerging technologies and how they can support newsroom, production, digital, and business priorities.

- Salary range: $130,000 to $170,000 (Bonus eligible)
