SummaryWe are seeking a high-impact Senior Planner to support inventory planning across our Amazon and physical retail store channels. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, supply chain, and financial performance.
The Senior Planner will support the end-to-end inventory planning function - building seasonal and in-season plans, supporting store-level allocation, helping shape assortment recommendations, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the right product is in the right channel at the right time. Equally important is the ability to synthesize demand signals and translate them into actionable inventory strategies that protect margin, minimize risk, and accelerate growth.
Duties and responsibilities- Support the preseason and in-season inventory strategy for Amazon and physical retail store locations.
- Collaborate with the cross-functional team to manage inventory availability, promotional planning, and stock optimization; help refine assortment by making recommendations - based on sell-through and performance data - on whether to expand an item to all stores or tier it back.
- Support store-level allocation and replenishment strategies, ensuring product flow aligns with sell-through velocity and store-tier performance.
- Identify replenishment and reorder opportunities in-season; proactively help mitigate out-of-stock and excess inventory risk across Amazon and store channels.
- Provide data-driven recommendations based on inventory positions, competitive dynamics, and channel sales trends.
- Deliver monthly demand planning updates inclusive of sales, margin, sell-through, and weeks of supply (WOS) at the channel and category level; proactively identify, document, and communicate inventory risks and opportunities to the cross-functional team.
- Help own and drive the Amazon go-to-market strategy, including new product launch sequencing, promotional calendar alignment, and seasonal inventory positioning.
- Own the maintenance and consistent reporting of performance across Amazon and stores, delivering timely, accurate, and actionable updates to the cross-functional team on sales, inventory health, and plan-vs-actual variances.
- Own SKU-level optimization for Amazon, including assortment, inventory needs, and transfer orders.
- Manage SKU-level details on buys, including size curves, in-stock position by size, and replenishment needs at the size level.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed - pulling and interpreting reporting to identify what's working, what isn't, and where to adjust.
Qualifications- 3-5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or demand planning.
- Retail background required; in-store experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience planning across Amazon and physical retail stores; Amazon experience (FBM/FBA) is a strong plus but not required on its own.
- Category-level open-to-buy management experience; experience owning a category end-to-end - from SKU-level detail up to overall strategy - is strongly preferred.
- Strong financial and business acumen: proficiency in retail math (margin, turn, OTB, GMROI) and the ability to translate data into strategic decisions.
- Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, index/match, macros, and large dataset management.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders with data-driven narratives and to proactively advocate for what the role needs from cross-functional partners.
- A track record of process improvement - identifying issues, fixing them, and helping others adopt the improved process.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Looker or equivalent) and planning tools
- Exposure to Amazon vendor/seller operations (AMS, AVN negotiations, or FBA replenishment planning) is nice to have, not required.
- Experience leveraging or implementing AI/ML tools within a planning or supply chain context is a nice to have; a proactive mindset toward using technology to reduce manual planning lift is valued.
- Action-oriented, with strong planning fundamentals: comfortable turning a sales plan into a buy, chasing inventory, and analyzing the business to surface risks, opportunities, and next steps.
- A collaborative, partner-first mindset - flexible and responsive to merchant needs, while comfortable advocating for what the role needs in return.
