Accountabilities:
Lead Key Accounts Marketing strategy. Establish the team’s vision, annual strategy, and marketing plan within Athene’s broader marketing strategy, translating business and distribution priorities into partner-specific campaigns, financial professional engagement, sales enablement, and activation programs.
Lead and develop a high-performing team. Create clarity, accountability, and an inclusive environment while empowering team members to own account and channel strategies, stakeholder relationships, recommendations, and execution. Coach and develop talent, encourage experimentation and continuous learning, and recognize individual and team contributions.
Manage and prioritize the marketing portfolio. Establish an effective operating rhythm across planned and active initiatives, balancing priorities, resources, capacity, dependencies, risks, and timelines. Anticipate barriers, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and move with urgency to keep the highest-impact work progressing.
Serve as a strategic marketing connector and thought partner. Help the team pressure-test strategies, navigate ambiguity, and connect individual account plans to broader Retail and Marketing objectives. Bring together cross-functional partners to creatively identify new engagement, innovation, and growth opportunities.
Orchestrate cross-functional marketing delivery. Build strong relationships across Sales, Distribution, Product Marketing, Creative, Content, Digital, Analytics, Compliance, Operations, and other capabilities to align resources and deliver coordinated, multichannel marketing solutions.
Turn insights into action and improve performance. Identify audience needs, patterns, and growth opportunities across accounts and channels; establish clear measures of success; and use data, analytics, AI-enabled tools, testing, and campaign learnings to improve decisions, scale effective approaches, and strengthen future marketing performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
7+ years of relevant marketing experience; including 3+ years of formal or informal leadership, with experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, developing others, and driving results in financial services, insurance, intermediary distribution, or another complex business environment, or relevant experience, preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop integrated marketing strategies, translate business and sales objectives into actionable priorities, and manage a portfolio of complex initiatives, stakeholders, resources, dependencies, and competing demands.
Strong business acumen and understanding of how marketing can drive sales growth, strengthen distribution partnerships, engage financial professionals, and deliver measurable business results; experience in annuities, retirement, or financial services distribution is strongly preferred.
Exceptional strategic thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, identify opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, create structure in ambiguity, and influence senior stakeholders.
A people-centered, growth-oriented leadership approach with a bias for action and demonstrated ability to empower others, build trust and inclusion, coach and develop talent, adapt quickly, encourage creativity and innovation, and promote sound judgment and a risk-aware, ethical culture. Curiosity about emerging technologies and practical AI fluency—knowing when and how AI can improve marketing effectiveness—is important.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Ability to travel occasionally based on business needs.
