Job Description

Title: Sr. Manager, HR Strategy & Organizational Effectiveness

Location: This role will be hybrid, based in our New York or Pittsburgh Office

Get to Know the Role: As the central lead for our HR strategy, you will coordinate high-impact initiatives across the broader HR team and key cross-functional departments to ensure our long-term goals are met. You will develop executive-level materials that help the HR leadership team shape our organizational design and prepare for future workforce needs. This is a high-visibility role focused on translating complex plans into clear, synchronized results across the organization.

What You'll Do:
  • Strategic Project Management: Manage the day-to-day tracking and governance of the HR Strategic Plan. Partner with leaders across HR (Talent Management, Total Rewards, HRBP/TA) to track initiative milestones, identify integration risks, and prepare agendas for HR Leadership Team (HRLT) strategy reviews.
  • Critical Talent Logistics: Support the VP in administering bespoke development plans for critical roles and successors, including things like tracking specialized coaching engagements, executive assessments, and stretch assignments.
  • Future Workforce Readiness: Partner across the HR Team and the business to assess how emerging technology (e.g., AI) and new organizational designs will impact "how we work," helping prepare the workforce for future needs.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary working-level partner to teams in Workplace Innovation, the AEO Foundation, Communications, and IDEA. Ensure their project plans are synchronized with the broader enterprise cadence so launches do not overlap or compete for business attention.
  • Data Synthesis & Capability Tracking: Collaborate with the People Analytics and Reporting teams to translate Human Capital data into actionable insights that help inform shifts in organizational design.
  • Executive Forum Operations: Serve as the tactical producer for LT, ELT, and OpCo events. Draft and build presentations, synthesize pre-read materials, and partner with internal communications to ensure the executive narrative is clear, cohesive, and aligned with the overarching HR strategy.

What You Bring:
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in HR Strategy, Organizational Effectiveness, or Management Consulting within a large-scale global enterprise or retail environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree (MBA, Organizational Development, or I/O Psychology) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise roadmaps and project governance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to translate diverse data points-including engagement, financial, and performance metrics-into clear, professional insights for a leadership audience.
  • Experience in event production or meeting design for senior leadership summits.
  • Highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority across diverse functions.
  • Exceptional skill in creating materials for leadership meetings and experience in organizing agendas for senior-level strategy summits.

Perks: Why You'll Love it Here
  • Generous employee discount
  • Summer Fridays
  • Casual dress code
  • Hybrid schedule
  • FOMO events (Exciting company-wide events)
