Job Title: Senior Manager - Energy Control Centers (ECC)

Location: Vestal, NY

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $134,720 to $168,400.

Job Summary

This position provides leadership to managers and supervisors for all daily operations of AVANGRID Networks Energy Control Centers. Responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and security of the Company's electric and gas transmission and distribution systems. Oversee the use of the Energy Control System (ECS) and Gas SCADA System. Develops departmental goals related to corporate goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Energy Control Centers during normal electric and gas system operations, electric and gas emergencies, and incident investigations. (30%,P)
  • Understand the business and customer requirements of the product set.
  • Develops, analyzes and maintains both capital and maintenance budgets within approved limits and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. (20%,P)
  • Deliver competitive advantage through innovative design.
  • Oversees activities associated with real-time electric and hydro compliance of Federal regulations (NERC and FERC) including training, and system operations during normal and emergency operations. (10%,P)
  • Identify opportunities and threats for digital propositions based on in-depth knowledge of utility and other sectors, coupled with external market factors.
  • Reviews state and federal legislative bills and proposed agency regulations to evaluate the impact to the Company. Participates in Company's legislative and regulatory activities and may be required to present testimony. (10%, P)
  • Lead the delivery of innovative mobile and/or web projects and enhancements that deliver quality solutions and enhance customer experience.
  • Is accountable to assist in the development and implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the ECC, Gas SCADA and emergency backup systems. (10%,S)
  • Deliver excellent customer service and actively promote customer service standards within area of responsibility.
  • Oversees labor and equipment resources, balancing service quality and corporate cost-cutting and efficiency provisions. (10%,S)
  • Adapt rapidly and effectively to an increasingly regulated competitive market and to reflect any changes to business objectives.
  • Oversees on-going evaluation of products and services to internal and external customers while troubleshooting and finding refinements to those services. (5%,S)
  • Act as a champion for digital innovation.
  • Develops company policy and practices, interprets State and Federal regulations as they impact the company's method of operation. (5%,S)
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of product execution and pricing.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or in a related field and a minimum of 10 (ten) years of broad experience in electric and gas transmission, distribution systems, SCADA and Outage Management systems and Energy Control Systems including, emergency restorations, real-time operations and control, and compliance. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing federal and state statutory and regulatory actions.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all company policies and procedures, PUC and PSC Rules, bargaining unit agreements and other federal, state and local regulations and requirements related to the assignment.
  • Strong planning, coordinating and organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments and conflict resolution.
  • Able to foster individual professional development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with outside regulatory and governmental agencies, as well as the general public.
