THE ROLEThe Sr. Manager of Networking Partner Management for the Data Center Solutions business unitwill play a key rolewithin AMD, helping to define and deliver next-generation Compute and AI infrastructure platforms. The role is both partner and AMD engineering team facing with a focus on the growing AI market. This individual will be responsible for engaging -networking ecosystem partners and ecosystem solution providers, to execute AMD's strategy to enable market share growth for AMD's current and next generation of data center solutions. The individual will serve as the Data Center Solutions Product Management subject matter expert on the networking ecosystem, understanding both long-term product and business strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring successful engagement with the broad ecosystem to achieve AMD's strategic ecosystem and business goals.
You will own critical ecosystem product domains and drive strategic initiatives across AMD's data center CPU, GPU and networking portfolio, shaping product direction, influencing architecture, and improving how the organization plans and executes. As part of AMD's Ecosystem Product Management team you will help bring structure, clarity, and execution discipline to the complex memory partner ecosystem landscape.
This is a key individual contributor role, not a people manager.
THE PERSONThe ideal candidate will possess a breadth of abilities and skills, including: networking, storage, Optics, connectivity, CPU, data center GPU product knowledge, machine learning applications and solutions, strong marketing and presentation skills, solid understanding of customers' business and decision makers, and strong individual initiative to drive progress on each partnership. As the business and product leader for AMD's networking and storage partnerships you will play a crucial role in shaping strategy, setting direction, and achieving success. You must be self-motivated, capable of operating autonomously through ambiguity, and constantly striving for excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEcosystem Strategy & Ownership- Manage key strategic ecosystem partnerships driving to achieve AMD's business and technology strategy objectives
- As part of the Instinct product management team, be a primary contact point for networking ecosystem partner engagements, evangelizing AMD data center GPU technologies/products and capabilities
- Regular roadmap alignment with partners, identify synergies, disconnects and emerging opportunities and influencing change as necessary to ensure AMD's success
- Develop internal strategies for standards organization engagement and execute said strategies through industry influence and evangelism
- Identify key players in the growing AI market and cultivate strong technical and business relationships
- Contribute to the setting of ecosystem and partner strategy, the resulting tactical milestones, and leading the team to achieve them
- Understand the partner's business goals and requirements; foster relationships and manage customer expectations to ensure needs are aligned with AMD business goals
- Within AMD be a strong advocate for the partner and their positioning
- Understand partner h/w and s/w requirements, configurations, applications and architect solutions accordingly.
- Maintain awareness of, and provide reports on, partner status and key issues
- Drive for highest levels of partner engagement and satisfaction
- Own end-to-end partner product evangelism for selected areas of AMD's Data Center GPU and AI infrastructure portfolio
- Work within the Product management organization to translate customer requirements, market signals and technology trends into clear product strategies and requirements for AMD's strategic partnerships within the networking ecosystem
- Evaluate and guide trade-offs across performance, power, cost, scalability, and time-to-market
- Maintain up to date repository of ecosystem roadmap and technical collateral
- Schedule and manage partner meetings on regular cadence and report out to internal product management and engineering teams updates on a quarterly basis
Strategic Initiatives & Ecosystem Planning- Lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives such as:
- Long-term technology and Ecosystem planning
- Multi-generation / Multi-partner roadmap alignment and portfolio prioritization
- Evaluation of new product opportunities or market expansions
- Support executive decision-making with structured analysis and clear recommendations
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current ecosystem solutions and drive improvements
Customer & Partner Ecosystem Engagement- Engage with hyperscalers, cloud providers, and system partners to inform product direction around key ecosystems
- Support key customer engagements and help align AMD and strategic ecosystem solutions with infrastructure needs
- Contribute to external-facing materials and technical narratives where needed
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Strong experience in the computing industry, at the OEM or ODM, or CSP level
- Background in networking system architecture and solutions used in large-scale data center systems with focus on switching
- Background in optics and network connectivity
- Experience in IEEE, SNIA or other standards bodies with a focus on networking ecosystems
- Expertise in enabling, building, and deploying industry standards and ecosystems
- Strong familiarity with semiconductor business practices, operations, and product lifecycles in the networking, compute, storage, and/or memory segments
- Substantial experience in a customer-facing role across multiple functions within a large organization. Experience with AI players and/or CSPs is a big plus.
- Knowledge of AI workloads and SW stack
- Outstanding written, oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate without direct authority
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous projects
- Background in architecture-driven product management or system engineering
- Results driven
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline preferred
