What is the opportunity?

As a Sr. Manager of DevOps/QE, you will oversee the activities of DevOps/QE automation teams and members, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of Quality Engineering at RBC Insurance Technology (RBCI IT). We are looking for a leader who is people-driven, client-focused, and a change agent to support the overall DevOps/QE automation strategy and transformations within RBCI IT. This role will also leverage AI and AI-driven SDLC practices to enhance efficiency, innovation, and quality in our processes.

What will you do?
  • Responsible for managing test teams and aligning to RBC Quality Engineering practices, incorporating AI-driven SDLC methodologies.
  • Responsible for integration of team members into Squads/Programs/Projects, assuring engagement at the start of the initiative.
  • Responsible for managing resources and vendor coordination, driving alignment with RBC practices and efficient usage.
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and other stakeholders from Business, IT, vendors, etc.
  • Execute Performance Management processes, including ensuring development plans & performance reviews are in place.
  • Ensures team has adequate training, consulting, and tools to deliver objectives, including AI and automation tools.
  • Supports senior management in the development of workforce skill sets to meet transformation needs and achieve strategic goals.
  • Accountable for maximizing automation for all project functional testing deliverables in the portfolio, leveraging AI-driven solutions.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 10+ years of Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering experience, with 3 to 5 years of people management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and implementing program/project end-to-end testing strategies and plans and managing the end-to-end process.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD/CV pipeline automation, and AI-driven SDLC practices.
  • Experience leading all facets of testing, including test optimization and automation, with a focus on AI-driven solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of methodologies, frameworks, and best practices (Agile, Kanban, Scrum, etc.).
  • Very good communication skills. Ability to focus, prioritize, and solve complex problems.

Nice-to-have
  • Experience with Insurance industry data/systems.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Knowledge of data management and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related (technical) degree/diploma.
