The role partners closely with Product teams, CDAO Data Domain Owners, and the CDAO Portfolio Owner on product-level business requirements and prioritization, while ensuring technical delivery aligns with platform modernization goals.

This position emphasizes establishing best-in-class practices for data technical product ownership, ensuring that data solutions effectively support product delivery and platform modernization without duplicating product ownership responsibilities.

  • Establish and mature best practices for backlog management, intake processes, prioritization, and technical sequencing across data domains.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering Managers, and domain stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate roadmap initiatives into sequenced technical work
  • Ensure consistent execution intake and governance processes that balance immediate support needs with platform modernization priorities
  • Drive continuous improvement of TPO practices, including documentation, workflow redesign, and cross-team collaboration standards
  • Participate in planning activities to align TPO work with broader roadmap and platform enablement goals
  • Provide leadership visibility into team capacity, velocity, risks, and delivery tradeoffs
  • Serve as a key point of escalation for cross-functional sequencing and prioritization decisions

Basic Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalenet, and typically requires 9+ years of relative experience and 1+ years of management experience
  • Strong experience in technical product ownership, data analysis, delivery governance, or platform enablement roles
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in complex, matrixed environments
  • Deep understanding of data engineering workflows, backlog management, and technical sequencing best practices
  • Experience engaging with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into deliverable technical work
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to negotiate tradeoffs and present to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized with strong facilitation skills for prioritization and planning sessions

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in shared services, platform delivery, or data modernization programs
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure) and data engineering best practices
  • Background in Agile delivery models (Scrum, SAFe) and the ability to adapt practices to data and platform environments
  • Knowledge of healthcare data and regulatory considerations
  • Proven track record of building scalable intake, governance, and execution processes
