As Sr. Manager, Pharmacy Distribution Operations, you'll manage the day-to-day operations of one of our high-volume, automated pharmaceutical distribution centers within the Central Fill Pharmacy network. This is a customer co-located role - you'll be based on-site with our customer as the face of McKesson, owning the day-to-day relationship and serving as their trusted operational partner.

You'll direct supervisors, leads, and individual contributors to deliver excellence in safety, quality, service, and cost, applying operational policies to establish and achieve department goals. You'll also partner directly with the customer to set strategy and align our operations to achieve their goals - helping shape a culture of continuous improvement, team engagement, and patient-first thinking while running daily operations, streamlining workflows, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to help us deliver on our mission.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Customer Relationship: Serve as the primary, on-site point of contact for our co-located customer - building trust, managing the day-to-day relationship, and representing McKesson as a dependable operational partner.
  • Partner on Strategy & Customer Goals: Partner with the customer to set strategy and align our operations, priorities, and improvement initiatives to achieve their goals and deliver measurable value.
  • Lead Daily Operations: Manage daily production, resource planning, and prioritization to meet and exceed the site's distribution goals.
  • Track Performance: Keep a close eye on KPIs like Cost per Script, Scripts per Hour, Safety Index, and employee engagement - and use them to drive results.
  • Ensure Safety & Accuracy: Make sure everything we dispense is secure, accurate, and compliant with FDA, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Partner on Regulatory & Licensing Audits: Partner with the customer to prepare for and support audits and inspections by various regulatory and licensing agencies, keeping the site audit-ready at all times.
  • Drive Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve engineering processes, customer support, cost structure, and overall quality; build business cases to support investments and upgrades.
  • Develop the Team: Attract and develop talent at all levels; provide feedback, development plans, and coaching, and be a role model for McKesson's ICARE and ILEAD values.
  • Manage Reporting: Create and share performance reports and analytics with customers on a regular basis, and communicate clearly across all levels to keep everyone aligned.
  • Oversee Vendors & Budgets: Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and expenses to stay on budget and deliver value.
  • Lead Training & Compliance: Build and maintain training programs that meet McKesson's standards and keep the site audit-ready.
  • Support Systems & Staffing: Support pharmacy system installs and troubleshoot tech issues with internal teams and vendors; use labor modeling to forecast needs and plan staffing for volume shifts.

What You Bring

  • Education: Four-year degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Central Fill and/or Pharmacy Operations and Inventory Management experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician License: A licensed Pharmacy Technician, or the ability to become a certified pharmacy technician - McKesson offers educational classes to support you in earning and maintaining certification.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Proven ability to own a customer relationship in a co-located or on-site setting, partnering on strategy and aligning operations to achieve customer goals.
  • Regulatory Audit Partnership: Ability to partner with a customer to prepare for and support audits by various regulatory and licensing agencies.
  • Experience: 9+ years of professional operations experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience; experience leading distribution or pharmacy fulfillment operations with a focus on safety, quality, and service (pharmaceutical distribution and automation preferred).
  • Financial Acumen: Solid financial skills - budgeting, forecasting, and building ROI-driven business cases.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of FDA, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and comfort with tools like Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
