This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. As the Sr. Manager of Business Resilience, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for the full lifecycle of contingency planning and incident management. This includes developing and executing our enterprise-wide business continuity strategy, conducting business impact analyses (BIAs), leading contingency and incident responses, and managing drills and exercises to ensure operational readiness for launches, tests, and other critical events.

You will be a hands-on leader, working collaboratively across all business units to identify, measure, and mitigate risks, directly contributing to the resilience and success of our operations. This role demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for ensuring operational continuity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Business Resilience team, including hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management of direct reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and activate protocols for Incident and Contingency Management; serve as or delegate a Contingency Coordinator during launch operations, hazardous testing, and crisis events.
  • Direct enterprise-wide Business Resilience activities, including Business Impact Analyses, Business Recovery Plans, and Incident and Contingency Management response frameworks.
  • Oversee the execution of training, drills, and simulations to evaluate and enhance organizational readiness and response efficiency.
  • Partner with Site Leaders, Operations, Supply Chain, Security, EHS, and other key functions to develop and integrate robust continuity and recovery strategies.
  • Guide the team in conducting interviews with business units to build and maintain Business Impact Analyses and actionable Business Recovery Plans within our continuity management software.
  • Ensure there is a primary point of contact during emergency events, coordinating with the Enterprise Operations Center to provide clear, timely updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage on-call schedules to ensure 24/7 leadership for incident management response across the enterprise.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or crisis management program planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to lead and perform effectively in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes and drive consensus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional certification in Business Continuity (CBCP, ABCP, MBCI) or Project Management (PMP).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role within business continuity, disaster recovery, or crisis management.
  • Experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performance, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Business Continuity Management Software or Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools and their application to risk and resilience management.
  • Formal training and hands-on experience in incident command or crisis leadership.

Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $183,807.00 - $257,328.75
