Description

This position is ideal for experienced business innovation, commercial strategy, and growth professionals looking to join the North America Business Innovation team as a Senior Manager, Business Innovation - Canada, driving regional growth, customer innovation, and business transformation across the Canadian market. The position reports to the NA Business Innovation Senior Director. Partnering with cross-functional teams across Canada and North America, you will identify market opportunities, develop innovative commercial solutions, and scale high-impact programs that enhance customer experience, accelerate adoption of Invisalign and iTero, and unlock new revenue streams.

As a member of the Canada Leadership Team and a strategic partner to the North America Business Innovation organization, you will provide critical market insights, commercial expertise, and program leadership to influence business strategy and execution. This role is vital in connecting local market needs with broader North America innovation priorities, shaping the future of Financial Solutions, Strategic Partnerships, Commercial Services, and other transformational initiatives that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage in Canada.

Role expectations
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop innovative solutions across Financial Solutions, Strategic Partnerships, Commercial Services, and other growth initiatives that enhance customer experience and drive adoption of Invisalign and iTero.
  • Collaborate closely with the North America Financial Solutions team to design, launch, and optimize affordability programs, fintech partnerships, payment innovations, and other customer-centric solutions that support business growth.
  • Develop robust business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses to assess strategic opportunities, prioritize investments, and support decision-making across innovation initiatives.
  • Lead the design, execution, and scaling of pilot programs, establishing success metrics, monitoring performance, and ensuring measurable business impact and operational feasibility.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal/Regulatory, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive program adoption, customer engagement, and commercial performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and new opportunities that can be translated into innovative business solutions.
  • Prepare and present business cases, program performance updates, strategic recommendations, and market insights to senior leadership, influencing business priorities and investment decisions.
  • Drive operational excellence across multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring effective project management, execution discipline, stakeholder alignment, and timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Serve as a key advocate for Business Innovation within the Canada Leadership Team, providing visibility into innovation priorities, fostering organizational alignment, and supporting the achievement of regional growth objectives.
  • Monitor program performance and market dynamics, identifying opportunities for optimization, expansion, and continuous improvement to maximize customer value and business results.
  • Ensure all innovation programs and partnerships comply with applicable regulatory requirements, financial controls, legal standards, and Align Technology policies.


What we're looking for
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10-15+ years of experience in Business Innovation, Commercial Strategy, Product Marketing, Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, or related functions, with a proven track record of driving growth and transformational initiatives.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience within technology, healthcare, medical devices, fintech, or other innovation-driven industries preferred, with exposure to regulated business environments considered a strong asset.
  • Innovation & Strategy: Demonstrated success in identifying, developing, and scaling new business models, customer-centric solutions, strategic partnerships, and commercial programs that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Go-to-Market Leadership: Proven experience designing and executing go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with Sales and Marketing organizations, driving adoption, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Business Acumen: Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to develop compelling business cases, evaluate market opportunities, and translate insights into actionable business strategies.

  • Flexibility to travel, both local, within Canada and to US required (approximately 20%) - also optional but highly recommended - it ensures that we are clear that cross border travel may be required and therefore the incumbent should have the appropriate travel documentation that allows this.


Pay Transparency

If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate's pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.

For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S.

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
