DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Manager, Brand Operations and Marketing, located in Raynham, MA or Raritan, NJ

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, Brand Operations and Marketing serves as a strategic partner to the Head of Brand Marketing and helps operationalize, activate, govern, and evolve the DePuy Synthes brand. This role combines brand governance, stakeholder engagement, marketing activation support, creative problem solving, and operational leadership to ensure the DePuy Synthes brand is consistently and effectively deployed across the organization. The role has a direct impact on brand adoption, operating discipline, stakeholder enablement, and long-term brand equity as DePuy Synthes establishes itself as a standalone orthopaedics company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day brand governance and serve as a primary point of contact for brand-related inquiries, guidance, and implementation support across the organization.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Commercial, Human Resources, Digital, Events, Legal, Trademark, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, and regional teams to support consistent, practical, and compliant brand application.
  • Manage and continuously improve brand governance processes, FAQs, decision trees, office hours, stakeholder education, intake workflows, and escalation pathways for complex brand requests.
  • Own administration and ongoing management of the DePuy Synthes Brand Center and related digital asset management tools, ensuring assets, templates, guidelines, training materials, and resources remain current, organized, and accessible.
  • Oversee asset taxonomy, tagging, naming, publishing, archiving, and content governance to improve user experience, adoption, and operational efficiency.
  • Support brand marketing activations, launch materials, toolkits, campaign resources, presentations, congress and event materials, stakeholder communications, and other initiatives that bring the DePuy Synthes brand to life.
  • Create, edit, and adapt branded assets, presentations, templates, infographics, and simple creative executions to support internal and external stakeholders when agency or design support is not required.
  • Support strategic brand workstreams including brand architecture, product branding guidance, packaging guidance, environmental branding, event branding, naming systems, and customer experience touchpoints.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, contractors, platform vendors, designers, and creative partners to ensure high-quality execution, delivery against timelines, and effective use of budget.
  • Lead project planning, prioritization, budgeting, status reporting, workflow management, and stakeholder alignment for key brand operations and marketing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve brand processes, build scalable self-service tools, strengthen adoption, and reduce unnecessary reliance on external agency support.
  • Support annual business planning, resource planning, budget forecasting, and capability development for the Brand Marketing function.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree is required in Marketing, Communications, Business, Design, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience and Skills

Required:
  • Typically requires 8-10 years of progressive experience in Brand Management, Marketing, Brand Operations, Communications, Creative Operations, or related functions.
  • Experience supporting corporate, enterprise, or global brands in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing brand governance, operational processes, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing digital tools, workflows, assets, templates, or content systems that enable brand or marketing teams.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Communications, Commercial, Digital, Events, Legal, Regulatory, and Global/Regional teams.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of requests and competing priorities.
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, contractors, designers, or external creative partners.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting a company launch, rebrand, corporate transformation, merger, acquisition, or organizational separation.
  • Experience managing Brand Centers, digital asset management platforms, Frontify, Bynder, SharePoint, Airtable, or similar systems.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Experience with Canva, PowerPoint design, presentation development, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to create and edit branded assets, templates, presentations, and simple creative executions independently.
  • Experience developing brand guidelines, governance systems, training programs, self-service resources, and stakeholder education materials.
  • Familiarity with brand architecture, product branding, packaging, environmental branding, event branding, and digital brand governance.
  • Experience within healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region brand strategies and stakeholder groups.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
