Overview

The Sr. Leave and Accommodations Partner contributes to REI's success by providing guidance to management and other business partners in the review and recommendation of workplace accommodations for job applicants and employees. Interface daily with employees, managers, HR, employee & labor relations, legal partners, healthcare providers, and disability administrators in leading the interactive process to provide the best opportunity for employees to return to optimal health, productivity, and a successful career. Collaborates with both employees and supervising leaders in facilitating an interactive process to explore job modifications and accommodations. A collaborative approach is used to seek successful solutions and reasonable accommodations to help our employees or job seekers (internal and external) with disabilities or medical restrictions successfully perform their jobs or in the job application/hiring process. Identifies different types of risk, develops creative options, and implements solutions to successfully return employees to work. Uses data to assess needs and develop sustainable Accommodation training and tools. Contributes to the HR team and co-op by leading, growing and scaling leadership capabilities in accommodations.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Guide accommodation requests and provide expert support on federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Lead the interactive accommodation process with employees, applicants, leaders, and business partners.
  • Partner with leave administrators and internal teams to support successful return-to-work transitions.
  • Analyze trends and data to identify opportunities, improve processes, and enhance employee experience.
  • Educate and coach leaders, HR partners, and employees on accommodation practices and resources.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, talent, and HR teams to address complex cases and support policy development.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting leave management, disability programs, and workplace accommodations.
  • Strong knowledge of ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, disability programs, and related state and federal leave laws.
  • Experience managing complex employee cases while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication, partnership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, influence decisions, and work across teams to achieve results.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Pay Range

$85,400.00 - $136,700.00 per year
