What we are looking for: 

The Senior Learning Manager role is a field-based position with the primary job responsibility of onboarding new commercial and medical customer facing teams to their role, and effectively elevate the clinical knowledge, selling skills, and functional capabilities of teams across US business units and assigned brands while in role. The Senior Learning Manager may also be responsible for key home office projects and will be required to go into Princeton Pike (PPK) home office (Lawrenceville NJ) 2-3 days per month. While this is a field-based role, a company car is not required and therefore is not offered with this role.

Who you will work with:

This position reports to the Director, US Commercialization Learning, NeuroScience.  In this role, the Senior Learning Manager will work collaboratively with TA home office training teams, the WWCL Centre of Excellence, and Enterprise Learning to execute on assigned BU and TA priorities. The Senior Learning Manager will also work across the matrix with Sales Representatives, Sales leaders (Regional Business Directors and District Business Managers), Marketing, MSLs, Field Medical Leaders and Operations to assess, design and deliver training solutions to meet the objectives identified by the brand.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with training colleagues, Sales, Medical, Operations, Marketing leadership, consistently implementing results-focused, performance-based, standardized training and development processes
  • Co-development and facilitation of POA meetings, new hire Classroom Workshops, and other training activities. Key competencies of focus will include Scientific Agility, Selling Skills/Customer engagement, Product & Disease State Knowledge, Insights Gathering, Business Analytics, and some Above Brand competencies
  • Ongoing assessment, update, and maintenance of onboarding curriculum pathways to include latest strategic and scientific priorities
  • Streamline and align training delivery across therapeutic areas and indications to ensure a consistent quality learning experience
  • Work with Project Managers and/or directly with Enterprise Learning Services to assign curricula through our Learning Experience Platform, MyLearning
  • Lead and conduct verbal validations and certifications
  • Lead and conduct Train the Trainer sessions
  • Manage preceptors (NSTs/DSTs) ensuring delivery of key projects. This includes equipping preceptors with skills to deliver new hire and advanced training curricula
  • Assess and analyze the effectiveness of new hire and other assigned training programs and initiatives utilizing Kirkpatrick Model
  • Adhere to Adult Learning Principles and learning measurement methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Pharmaceutical Sales Representative experience required
  • Therapeutic area or training experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrix teams
  • Demonstrated track record of developing self & others to drive and enhance performance
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills, potentially including previous experience leading workshops at sales meetings or new hire classes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • The ability to bring strong leadership, execution, and a winning mindset to the role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively create and communicate new hire strategic learning plans and curricula
  • Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements (e.g., Managers Meetings, National Plan of Action Meetings, various Training Initiatives, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel and Word, AI applications (ChatGPT, MS Co-Pilot, Claude) and other applications

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $148,750 - $180,250

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
