Overview

The Design Services arm under the Packaging & Design Services Team, plays a crucial role in enabling menu and packaging innovation considering human factors including team member usability, customer interaction, operations flow, while inserting brand design language across disposable and durable materials and formats. 

The Design Services lead will serve as an advocate of design thinking and collaborate with cross-functional partners in all stages of the innovation process (from understand to launch), ensuring proper execution of the design intent, while creating efficiencies and speed to market.     

Responsibilities

• Lead Packaging Design and Development to integrate Usability, Brand VDL, Team Member complexity, and deliverability of our menu into/across various design projects within the business.
• Collaborate with Packaging, Menu, Culinary & Commercialization and Engineering Project Leads to ensure product development meets project goals and KPIs.
• Develop, prototype and iterate concepts to ensure remarkable execution.
• Lead and collaborate with internal and external Design and Packaging resources/Suppliers to execute projects.
• Understand and help vision cast Chick-fil-A and Packaging & Design Services Strategies and associated pipeline.
• Present to internal peers and leadership, showing work in motion to drive alignment.
• Lead & Schedule successful design meetings such as Design Reviews.
• Support and drive consumer research such as (not limited to) focus groups, concept screeners, and in restaurant intercepts.
• Interface with Operators to test and validate design concepts.
• Tech scout new innovation and technologies. Stay educated on industry and design trends.
• Be able to self-prioritize and manage timelines for given work.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• QSR Experience
• Industrial Design Skills (sketching, ideation, research)
• Prototyping and fabrication
• Design research and technology scouting
• Experience with Modeling software (SolidWorks or similar)

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

• Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, etc.)
• Rendering software experience (KeyShot, Blender, etc.)
