Job Description

Plans, organizes, and manages the IT Wintel and LAN computing platform to support the IT infrastructure management function. The tasks associated with this work may include, but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and monitoring the Exchange local area network computing platform, evaluates and recommends the use of new equipment and software. Monitors the LAN platform, reviewing daily logs and reports for defects to achieve optimum performance, reviewing and establishing procedures to support the LAN environment and developing schedules for equipment usage. Provides the analysis and or design for supporting the LAN platform to support new projects. Ensures internal controls are adhered to in relation to audit procedures and security. Ensures systems and data integrity, confidentiality, and availability by managing and implementing appropriate security controls. Plans/evaluates/implements the delivery and improvement of services, staffing and resources. Consults with software/hardware vendors and other establishment workers to solve problems impeding platform services. Provides level 5, or subject matter expert, support in identifying and troubleshooting issues for the IT LAN computing environment. May develop budget and expenditures for the process. Coaches and manages staff. Provides project leadership for new initiatives, devises improvements to current policies and procedures. Prepares and presents status reports to senior IT management. Uses proficient knowledge to manage the tasks and events associated with this process. Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.

Job Qualifications

Six years of experience in assisting users in LAN problem solving, installation of hardware/software and evaluating new products. One year of experience at the pay band 4-2/4-3 level or equivalent industry experience is required.

Or

Bachelor's degree in information technology and four years of experience in assisting users in LAN problem solving, installation of hardware/software and evaluating new products. One year of experience at the pay band 4-2/4-3 level or equivalent industry experience is required.

  • INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - Preferred


  • Major Duties

    Coordinates with business unit representatives insuring that needed IT assets and systems are available when required.
    Monitors and coordinates with other IT sections to ensure adherence to IT best practices, IT policies and procedures (to include security and PCI requirements).
    Monitors all appropriate projects for proper utilization of resources.
    Works to ensure members maintain appropriate skill sets, attitude, and technical knowledge.
    Monitors section's on-going yearly financial status.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Work Challenges

    24x7 work environment supporting Exchange operations, which requires either shift work, on call, and/or after hours project work and may include holidays, and weekends
    IT environment is constantly changing demanding quick solutions and evolving skills
    IT position located at HQ
    IT position - there may be some TDY associated with this IT work
