Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer with strong hands-on technical expertise and specialized Stock Loan/Securities Lending experience. In addition to hands-on development, the Lead Developer will provide technical leadership, solution design guidance, mentoring, and broad technical oversight across the platform.
Core Requirements: Technical Skills: - Strong hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting REST APIs and GraphQL services.
- Experience with distributed cache technologies (e.g., Hazelcast) and messaging platforms.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting MQ-based integrations with third-party vendor platforms (e.g., EquiLend Loanet, Global One, and DTCC).
- Strong understanding of API design, GraphQL schema design, performance optimization, and security best practices.
- Solid knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Vue.js is a plus.
- Comfortable participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and Level 3 (L3) production support.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Ability to effectively use AI tools for:
- Code generation and prototyping
- Refactoring and modernization
- Test case generation
- Documentation creation
- Debugging and troubleshooting
- Improving development productivity and code quality
- Understanding of prompt engineering concepts, context management, and token optimization.
Stock Loan Domain Experience: - Strong hands-on experience within the Stock Loan/Securities Lending business domain.
- Proven experience developing and supporting Stock Loan platforms and workflows.
- Deep understanding of:
- Borrow and loan processing
- Recalls and returns
- Rerates and substitutions
- Inventory management
- Collateral and pledge processing
- Trade matching and settlement
- Experience with FIX protocol is a plus.
Required Third-Party Integration Experience:Candidates should have hands-on experience integrating with and supporting industry-standard Stock Loan platforms, including:
- EquiLend Loanet
- Global One
- DTCC
Relevant experience should include:
- MQ-based messaging integrations
- Interface development and system integration
- Trade lifecycle processing
- Workflow automation
- Reconciliation and exception management
- Corporate actions processing
- L3 production support and operational troubleshooting
Collaboration & Communication:The successful candidates will work closely with:

They should also be comfortable interacting directly with business users, including traders and operations teams, when necessary to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and troubleshoot production issues.
