OverviewThe Sr. IT Product Manager serves as a strategic IT product and application leader, driving enterprise-wide product vision, roadmap, and value realization across multiple business domains. This role owns the end-to-end product lifecycle and is accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes, including adoption, ROI, and operational efficiency.
The Sr. IT Product Manager partners with senior leadership and business stakeholders to define digital strategy, align product investments with organizational priorities, and drive cross-functional decision-making. This role leads the development and execution of product strategies that enable scalable, innovative solutions across enterprise platforms. Working closely with business and IT teams, the Sr. IT Product Manager ensures product capabilities align with business needs, enterprise architecture, and regulatory requirements. They guide application evolution through data-driven insights, user feedback, and industry trends to continuously improve performance and user experience.
The Sr. IT Product Manager leads and develops a team responsible for requirements, solution design, and process optimization, while fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement across systems and business processes.
Salary $137,000 - $171,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Leads cross-functional initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders to drive IT product decisions and organizational alignment on technology initiatives for their specific business unit(s). Dedicated to keeping the customer at the center of all product and design decisions to improve the overall user experience.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on product strategy, technology investments, and innovation opportunities.
- Defines the long-term strategy and vision for their products in partnership with their associated business units. Establishes and tracks product success metrics, ensuring alignment with business value and ROI targets. Leads prioritization across product portfolio, balancing strategic
- initiatives, innovation, and operational needs.
- Analyze, develop, and document user requests/requirements through detailed software requirements, suitable for code development and for technology solutions and changes. Leads evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., Al, advanced analytics) to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Manages the Business Analysts associated with their business unit to analyze and define requirements that meet the business needs. Works closely with the developers and IT QA to ensure the product is built to specifications and meets high quality standards.
- Identifies critical issues with ease. Assess the functionality and usability of new technology through high-level testing and works with the business to guide the design of the product. Quickly understands the user issues and data challenges of the business (internal and external). Identify strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement pertaining to software solutions.
- Ensures product solutions meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements, proactively managing risk across the product lifecycle. Coaches and mentors employees on analysis practices, policies, procedures and technology related regulatory practices (FDA 21 CFR 11 - validated systems, etc.)
- Builds and develops high-performing product teams, establishing best practices and mentoring emerging product leaders. Responsible for selecting, hiring, training, evaluation and management of all team members that this role is responsible for, including communication and resolution of personnel issues with Senior IT Management and Human Resources.
- Lead project team meetings and provide MTF Management with updates regarding project status.
- Owns product financials, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Leads cross-product alignment and dependency management to ensure cohesive end-to-end business capabilities across platforms. Collaborates with other IT Product Managers, SMEs, and technical teams to sequence work, develop implementation plans, and produce work effort estimates.
- Enforces project deadlines and schedules. Collaborates with other people managers in managing resources in accordance with project schedules. Functions as a stakeholder on projects, participates in management decisions, and issue resolution.
- Maintains advanced technical skills through professional education and training thereby increasing the effectiveness of the IT department.
- Foster a strong and positive work environment that encourages creativity, while maintaining high caliber productivity.
- Provide assistance and support to staff to support business needs.
- Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of Education and/or Equivalent Work Experience
- 8+ years in of experience in IT product management or related roles, with demonstrated success leading complex, enterprise-scale initiatives
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities in complex environments
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across competing priorities Experience defining and operationalizing product KPis and success metrics
- Financial acumen related to product investment and ROI
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently meet deadlines and produce work in a timely manner Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets
- Must be able to interact effectively with all tiers of the organization
