Full Job Description
Alkami's Sr. Integration Success Engineer is a post-sale, lifecycle-focused technical role that sits at the intersection of software engineering, technical support & consulting, and customer enablement. You'll be the primary technical partner for financial institutions (FIs) and their development teams and system integrators as they build, test, and launch custom integrations using the Alkami SDK and platform APIs.

You will serve as the first line of defense for all inbound SDK tickets from financial institutions, system integrators, and vendors- triaging each engagement to determine whether it can be resolved through a standard ticket interaction or requires scoping and execution as a formal project.

You are the person who prevents problems before they reach production- guiding integration architecture, providing hands-on troubleshooting, and providing break/fix support.
Integration Lifecycle Ownership

- Partner with FI development teams and system integrators from discovery through go-live, providing architectural guidance, technical oversight, and active troubleshooting at each phase

- Validate integration approaches and use cases during discovery to ensure alignment with the Alkami platform capabilities before development begins

- Support customer and integrator developers during the build phase with guidance on SDK usage, API behavior, endpoint design, and error handling

- Provide testing and validation support prior to production, confirming expected platform behavior and surfacing edge cases before launch

Technical Advisory Support

- Handle inbound SDK and integration questions for functionality and guidance that does not require hands-on engagement- SDK capability clarification, endpoint usage, API response interpretation, and short consultations

- Triage and scope inbound tickets to determine whether they fall within advisory support or require a full project proposal

Contracted Integration Engagements

- Transition advisory tickets into scoped project proposals when customer needs evolve into hands-on architectural design assistance, extensive troubleshooting, repeated debugging sessions, code or workflow reviews, or active participation in build and test phases

- Track all contracted engagement hours to ensure proper recording of customer entitlements and utilization, enabling accurate forecasting of SDK support demand.

Cross-Functional Escalation & Feedback

- Coordinate technical escalations to Engineering when integration issues reveal platform bugs or SDK gaps, providing structured reproduction steps and context

- Serve as a consistent feedback channel from the field into Product and Engineering to surface integration friction points, undocumented behaviors, and gaps in SDK capabilities

WHAT YOU WON'T DO

This role does not involve:

- Writing customer code or building integrations on behalf of FIs or system integrators

- Pre-sales technical demonstrations or scoping

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Technical Skills

- Solid understanding of REST API design and usage, including authentication patterns, request/response structures, pagination, and error handling

- Working knowledge of at least one programming language commonly used for API and SDK integration (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#). You don't need to be a software engineer, but you need to be fluent enough to read and reason about customer code

- Familiarity with developer tooling such as Postman, API documentation, log analysis, and debugging workflows

- Experience with or strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and integration testing practices

- Ability to analyze and interpret JSON payloads, API logs, and error traces to isolate the source of integration issues

Customer-Facing & Project Skills

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent technical engagements with structure and accountability by scoping work, setting expectations, and tracking to completion

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail for both developer audiences and non-technical FI stakeholders

- Comfortable navigating ambiguity in early-stage integrations where requirements evolve and scope needs active management

- Experience working with or alongside system integrators or third-party vendors is a strong plus

Experience

- 4-6 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of independently owning complex integration engagements end-to-end; ability to mentor peers and contribute to program-level improvements (e.g., playbook development, triaging models, engagement scoping standards)

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

This role tends to attract people with backgrounds as:

- Developer Support or Developer Experience Engineers at API-first platforms

- Technical Architects with hands-on API/SDK experience

- Solutions Engineers or Implementation Engineers who prefer deep post-sale lifecycle ownership over a pre-sales motion

- Application Support Engineers looking to specialize in integration and development workflows

Experience in fintech, digital banking, or financial services is a plus but not required.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

This role closes a real gap in how Alkami supports customers building on the platform. Today, SDK support work is inconsistently managed, advisory and contracted work are not cleanly separated, and customer developers sometimes lack a reliable technical partner through the integration process. This role fixes all three while directly shaping the future Alkami SDK support model.
The salary range for this position is: $96,000 - $120,000
