Full Job Description
Are you an experienced Industrial Hygienist looking for the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients, and grow your career with a rapidly expanding national firm? Apex Companies is seeking a Sr. Industrial Hygienist to support clients and projects throughout West Florida. This is a remote, field-based position that can be based in the West Florida area, with 30-50% fieldwork and travel required.

In this role, you'll lead and perform a variety of industrial hygiene and environmental assessments, including indoor air quality, mold, asbestos, lead, chemical and noise exposure assessments, and air monitoring. You'll have the autonomy to scope and price projects, coordinate field activities, analyze data, prepare technical reports, and serve as a trusted resource for clients.

Your Responsibilities as a Sr. Industrial Hygienist:
  • Scope and price IH assessments for a variety of clients with limited Program Management oversight
  • Coordinate and direct field activities including fielding client and/or contractor questions and requests for information
  • Work closely with project teams to manage work flow
  • Prepare and review IH reports
  • Lead and periodically Conduct Indoor Air Quality and Post-Remediation Verification Assessments associated with:
  • Water Intrusion/Mold
  • Moisture Mapping
  • Air Sampling for Mold and IAQ Parameters
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Preparation of Scope of Work and Draft Technical Reports
  • Lead and periodically conduct Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Surveys and Abatement and Remediation Oversight/Air Sampling
  • Lead and periodically conduct Industrial Hygiene Sampling and Monitoring
    • Industrial Hygiene Assessments of Chemical and Noise Exposures
    • Air Monitoring
    • Sound Level Surveys
    • Observe and Recommend Engineering and Administrative Controls to Limit Employee Exposures.
    • Compare employee exposures to noise and air contaminates against regulatory limits from client, OSHA, or ACGIH.
    • Preparation of Scope of Works and Draft Technical Reports.
  • Ensure safe work practices on all project work.

What we're looking for:
  • BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science/Engineering or related field;
  • Master's degree a plus.
  • Prefer 5+ years of technical experience.
  • Experience working with industrial hygiene, asbestos, mold, radon, and lead sampling.
  • Asbestos, safety, lead and/or mold inspector certifications preferred; such as, ASP/CSP, CIH, or FLAC.
  • Additional EHS certifications/licensures or interest in pursuing additional qualifications highly desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of asbestos OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, and state regulations.
  • Ability to work in a respirator and protective clothing.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to identify, collect, organize, and document information and data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour Trained with Current 8-hour Refresher preferred.
  • 30-50% fieldwork/travel required.
