Job Description

The Functional Architect will lead the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA RISE solutions for Financial Planning and Accounting processes. This role is responsible for driving fit-to-standard adoption, defining end-to-end business processes, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring the solution meets compliance, reporting, and operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on S/4HANA Finance modules, including:
    • General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Controlling (CO), Bank Accounting, and Financial Planning
  • Define the target business processes in alignment with SAP best practices and organizational objectives
  • Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops to capture business requirements, assess gaps, and recommend solutions
  • Develop functional design specifications for configurations, enhancements, and integrations with upstream/downstream systems
  • Oversee system configuration and validate end-to-end solution design
  • Collaborate with technical architects, data migration teams, and integration leads to ensure solution integrity
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and data privacy regulations
  • Support testing strategy, scenario development, and defect resolution
  • Provide guidance on user training, change management, and go-live readiness
  • Act as a key liaison between business leaders, internal technology teams, and external System Integration (SI) partners to ensure alignment and effective delivery


Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
  • SAP S/4HANA certifications (Finance) strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Finance solutions, with at least 2 end-to-end S/4HANA implementations (including RISE)
  • Expertise in SAP Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, CO, AA, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Financial Planning processes (Budgeting, Forecasting, Management Reporting)
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps and S/4HANA innovations (Universal Journal, Embedded Analytics) and its impact on finance processes
  • Experience in Fit-to-Standard implementation methodology
  • Prior experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment, supporting complex global business models and supply chain integrations
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global teams across multiple time zones
  • Experience engaging with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to drive consensus and accountability
  • Knowledge of compliance and audit requirements in finance processes
  • Ability to design integrations with Procurement, Sales, and HR processes
  • Ability to work in a hybrid delivery model with onshore and offshore teams
  • Significant hands-on experience in both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Finance
  • Experience with data migration strategies and execution during SAP S/4HANA implementations.

SKILLS:
  • Strong business-facing skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
